1vimspell.sh 2=========== 3 4This is a simple script to spell check a file and generate the syntax 5statements necessary to highlight the errors in vim. It is based on a 6similar program by Krishna Gadepalli <[email protected]>. 7 8To use this script, first place it in a directory in your path. Next, 9you should add some convenient key mappings. I use the following (in 10.vimrc): 11 12 noremap <F8> :so `vimspell.sh %`<CR><CR> 13 noremap <F7> :syntax clear SpellErrors<CR> 14 15This program requires the old Unix "spell" command. On my Debian 16system, "spell" is a wrapper around "ispell". For better security, 17you should uncomment the line in the script that uses "tempfile" to 18create a temporary file. As all systems don't have "tempfile" the 19insecure "pid method" is used. 20 21 22 Neil Schemenauer <[email protected]> 23
