is actually being used in store instructions, while looking through
bitcasts. This makes the transform compatible with opaque pointers
and a bit more general.

It's worth noting that I have dropped the 3-vector to 4-vector
shufflevector special case, because this is now handled in a
different way: If the value is actually used as a 4-vector, then
we're directly going to use that type, instead of shuffling to a
3-vector in between.

As mentioned in D93793, there are quite a few places where unary `IRBuilder::CreateShuffleVector(X, Mask)` can be used
instead of `IRBuilder::CreateShuffleVector(X, Undef, Mask)`.
Let's update them.

Actually, it would have been more natural if the patches were made in this order:
(1) let them use unary CreateShuffleVector first
(2) update IRBuilder::CreateShuffleVector to use poison as a placeholder value (D93793)

The order is swapped, but in terms of correctness it is still fine.

Currently, we have some confusion in the codebase regarding the
meaning of LocationSize::unknown(): Some parts (including most of
BasicAA) assume that LocationSize::unknown() only allows accesses
after the base pointer. Some parts (various callers of AA) assume
that LocationSize::unknown() allows accesses both before and after
the base pointer (but within the underlying object).

This patch splits up LocationSize::unknown() into
LocationSize::afterPointer() and LocationSize::beforeOrAfterPointer()
to make this completely unambiguous. I tried my best to determine
which one is appropriate for all the existing uses.

The test changes in cs-cs.ll in particular illustrate a previously
clearly incorrect AA result: We were effectively assuming that
argmemonly functions were only allowed to access their arguments
after the passed pointer, but not before it. I'm pretty sure that
this was not intentional, and it's certainly not specified by
LangRef that way.

Instead, represent the mask as out-of-line data in the instruction. This
should be more efficient in the places that currently use
getShuffleVector(), and paves the way for further changes to add new
shuffles for scalable vectors.

This doesn't change the syntax in textual IR. And I don't currently plan
to change the bitcode encoding in this patch, although we'll probably
need to do something once we extend shufflevector for scalable types.

I expect that once this is finished, we can then replace the raw "mask"
with something more appropriate for scalable vectors. Not sure exactly
what this looks like at the moment, but there are a few different ways
we could handle it. Maybe we could try to describe specific shuffles.
Or maybe we could define it in terms of a function to convert a fixed-length
array into an appropriate scalable vector, using a "step", or something
like that.

I found this fact by looking at this table, which is sorted by the
number of times a file was changed over the last 100,000 git commits
multiplied by the number of object files that depend on it in the
current checkout:

Foundation's lawyer and we believe this is the correct approach.

Essentially, all code in the project is now made available by the LLVM
project under our new license, so you will see that the license headers
include that license only. Some of our contributors have contributed
code under our old license, and accordingly, we have retained a copy of
our old license notice in the top-level files in each project and
repository.

I'm not intending to remove these accessors -- they are
useful/necessary in some cases. However, removing the pointee type
from pointers would potentially break some uses, and reducing the
number of calls makes it easier to audit.

This is a special case for what clang emits for OpenCL 3
element vectors. Annoyingly, these are emitted as
<3 x elt>* pointers, but accessed as <4 x elt>* operations.
This also needs to handle cases where a struct containing
a single vector is used.

It is better to return arguments directly in registers
if we are making a call rather than introducing expensive
stack usage. In one of sample compile from one of
Blender's many kernel variants, this fires on about
~20 different functions. Future improvements may be to
recognize simple cases where the pointer is indexing a small
array. This also fails when the store to the out argument
is in a separate block from the return, which happens in
a few of the Blender functions. This should also probably
be using MemorySSA which might help with that.

I'm not sure this is correct as a FunctionPass, but
MemoryDependenceAnalysis seems to not work with
a ModulePass.

I'm also not sure where it should run.I think it should
run before DeadArgumentElimination, so maybe either
EP_CGSCCOptimizerLate or EP_ScalarOptimizerLate.
