xsk: Bring back busy polling support
Commit 86e25f40aa1e ("net: napi: Add napi_config") moved napi->napi_id assignment to a later point in time (napi_hash_add_with_id). This breaks __xdp_rxq_info_reg which copies napi_id at an earlier time and now stores 0 napi_id. It also makes sk_mark_napi_id_once_xdp and __sk_mark_napi_id_once useless because they now work against 0 napi_id. Since sk_busy_loop requires valid napi_id to busy-poll on, there is no way to busy-poll AF_XDP sockets anymore.
Bring back the ability to busy-poll on XSK by resolving socket's napi_id at bind time. This relies on relatively recent netif_queue_set_napi, but (assume) at this point most popular drivers should have been converted. This also removes per-tx/rx cycles which used to check and/or set the napi_id value.
Confirmed by running a busy-polling AF_XDP socket (github.com/fomichev/xskrtt) on mlx5 and looking at BusyPollRxPackets from /proc/net/netstat.

Same as with converting &xdp_buff to skb on Rx, the code which allocates a new skb and copies the XSk frame there is identical across the drivers, so make it generic. This includes copying all the frags if they are present in the original buff. System percpu page_pools greatly improve XDP_PASS performance on XSk: instead of page_alloc() + page_free(), the net core recycles the same pages, so the only overhead left is memcpy()s. When the Page Pool is not compiled in, the whole function is a return-NULL (but it always gets selected when eBPF is enabled). Note that the passed buff gets freed if the conversion is done w/o any error, assuming you don't need this buffer after you convert it to an skb.

The code which builds an skb from an &xdp_buff keeps multiplying itself around the drivers with almost no changes. Let's try to stop that by adding a generic function. Unlike __xdp_build_skb_from_frame(), always allocate an skbuff head using napi_build_skb() and make use of the available xdp_rxq pointer to assign the Rx queue index. In case of PP-backed buffer, mark the skb to be recycled, as every PP user's been switched to recycle skbs.

The code piece which would attach a frag to &xdp_buff is almost identical across the drivers supporting XDP multi-buffer on Rx. Make it a generic elegant "oneliner". Also, I see lots of drivers calculating frags_truesize as `xdp->frame_sz * nr_frags`. I can't say this is fully correct, since frags might be backed by chunks of different sizes, especially with stuff like the header split. Even page_pool_alloc() can give you two different truesizes on two subsequent requests to allocate the same buffer size. Add a field to &skb_shared_info (unionized as there's no free slot currently on x86_64) to track the "true" truesize. It can be used later when updating the skb.

Currently, __xdp_return() takes pointer to the virtual memory to free a buffer. Apart from that this sometimes provokes redundant data <--> page conversions, taking data pointer effectively prevents lots of XDP code to support non-page-backed buffers, as there's no mapping for the non-host memory (data is always NULL). Just convert it to always take netmem reference. For xdp_return_{buff,frame*}(), this chops off one page_address() per each frag and adds one virt_to_netmem() (same as virt_to_page()) per header buffer. For __xdp_return() itself, it removes one virt_to_page() for MEM_TYPE_PAGE_POOL and another one for MEM_TYPE_PAGE_ORDER0, adding one page_address() for [not really common nowadays] MEM_TYPE_PAGE_SHARED, but the main effect is that the abovementioned functions won't die or memleak anymore if the frame has non-host memory attached and will correctly free those.

Initially, xdp_frame::mem.id was used to search for the corresponding &page_pool to return the page correctly. However, after that struct page was extended to have a direct pointer to its PP (netmem has it as well), further keeping of this field makes no sense. xdp_return_frame_bulk() still used it to do a lookup, and this leftover is now removed. Remove xdp_frame::mem and replace it with ::mem_type, as only memory type still matters and we need to know it to be able to free the frame correctly. As a cute side effect, we can now make every scalar field in &xdp_frame of 4 byte width, speeding up accesses to them.

The main reason for this change was to allow mixing pages from different &page_pools within one &xdp_buff/&xdp_frame. Why not? With stuff like devmem and io_uring zerocopy Rx, it's required to have separate PPs for header buffers and payload buffers. Adjust xdp_return_frame_bulk() and page_pool_put_netmem_bulk(), so that they won't be tied to a particular pool. Let the latter create a separate bulk of pages which's PP is different from the first netmem of the bulk and process it after the main loop. This greatly optimizes xdp_return_frame_bulk(): no more hashtable lookups and forced flushes on PP mismatch. Also make xdp_flush_frame_bulk() inline, as it's just one if + function call + one u32 read, not worth extending the call ladder.

As one side effect, when you're freeing frags from &skb_shared_info, xdp_return_frame_bulk() converts page pointers to virtual addresses and then page_pool_put_page_bulk() converts them back. Moreover, data pointers assume every frag is placed in the host memory, making this function non-universal. Make page_pool_put_page_bulk() handle array of netmems. Pass frag netmems directly and use virt_to_netmem() when freeing xdpf->data, so that the PP core will then get the compound netmem and take care of the rest.

32 bytes may be not enough for some custom metadata. Relax the restriction, allow metadata larger than 32 bytes and make __skb_metadata_differs() work with bigger lengths.
Now size of metadata is only limited by the fact it is stored as u8 in skb_shared_info, so maximum possible value is 255. Size still has to be aligned to 4, so the actual upper limit becomes 252. Most driver implementations will offer less, none can offer more.
Other important conditions, such as having enough space for xdp_frame building, are already checked in bpf_xdp_adjust_meta().

Also document XDP_METADATA_KFUNC_xxx arguments since we now have more than two and it might be confusing what is what.

Move bpf_prog_run_xdp() to xdp.h, seems appropriate and filter.h is a mega-header in its own right so it's nice to avoid xdp.h getting included there as well.
The only unfortunate part is that the typedef for xdp_features_t has to move to netdevice.h, since its embedded in struct netdevice.

The RSS hash type specifies what portion of packet data NIC hardware used when calculating RSS hash value. The RSS types are focused on Internet traffic protocols at OSI layers L3 and L4. L2 (e.g. ARP) often get hash value zero and no RSS type. For L3 focused on IPv4 vs. IPv6, and L4 primarily TCP vs UDP, but some hardware supports SCTP.
Hardware RSS types are differently encoded for each hardware NIC. Most hardware represent RSS hash type as a number. Determining L3 vs L4 often requires a mapping table as there often isn't a pattern or sorting according to ISO layer.
The patch introduce a XDP RSS hash type (enum xdp_rss_hash_type) that contains both BITs for the L3/L4 types, and combinations to be used by drivers for their mapping tables. The enum xdp_rss_type_bits get exposed to BPF via BTF, and it is up to the BPF-programmer to match using these defines.
This proposal change the kfunc API bpf_xdp_metadata_rx_hash() adding a pointer value argument for provide the RSS hash type. Change signature for all xmo_rx_hash calls in drivers to make it compile.
The RSS type implementations for each driver comes as separate patches.

__xdp_build_skb_from_frame() was the last user of {__,}xdp_release_frame(), which detaches pages from the page_pool. All the consumers now recycle Page Pool skbs and page, except mlx5, stmmac and tsnep drivers, which use page_pool_release_page() directly (might change one day). It's safe to assume this functionality is not needed anymore and can be removed (in favor of recycling).

A summary of the flags being set for various drivers is given below. Note that XDP_F_REDIRECT_TARGET and XDP_F_FRAG_TARGET are features that can be turned off and on at runtime. This means that these flags may be set and unset under RTNL lock protection by the driver. Hence, READ_ONCE must be used by code loading the flag value.
Also, these flags are not used for synchronization against the availability of XDP resources on a device. It is merely a hint, and hence the read may race with the actual teardown of XDP resources on the device. This may change in the future, e.g. operations taking a reference on the XDP resources of the driver, and in turn inhibiting turning off this flag. However, for now, it can only be used as a hint to check whether device supports becoming a redirection target.
Turn 'hw-offload' feature flag on for: - netronome (nfp) - netdevsim.
Turn 'native' and 'zerocopy' features flags on for: - intel (i40e, ice, ixgbe, igc) - mellanox (mlx5). - stmmac - netronome (nfp)

Turn 'redirect_target' feature flag on for: - amanzon (ena) - broadcom (bnxt) - freescale (dpaa, dpaa2) - intel (i40e, ice, igb, ixgbe) - ti (cpsw) - marvell (mvneta, mvpp2) - sfc - socionext (netsec) - qlogic (qede) - mellanox (mlx5) - tap - veth - virtio_net - xen

Add a Netlink spec-compatible family for netdevs. This is a very simple implementation without much thought going into it.
It allows us to reap all the benefits of Netlink specs, one can use the generic client to issue the commands:
$ ./cli.py --spec netdev.yaml --dump dev_get [{'ifindex': 1, 'xdp-features': set()}, {'ifindex': 2, 'xdp-features': {'basic', 'ndo-xmit', 'redirect'}}, {'ifindex': 3, 'xdp-features': {'rx-sg'}}]
the generic python library does not have flags-by-name support, yet, but we also don't have to carry strings in the messages, as user space can get the names from the spec.

Define a new kfunc set (xdp_metadata_kfunc_ids) which implements all possible XDP metatada kfuncs. Not all devices have to implement them. If kfunc is not supported by the target device, the default implementation is called instead. The verifier, at load time, replaces a call to the generic kfunc with a call to the per-device one. Per-device kfunc pointers are stored in separate struct xdp_metadata_ops.
