wifi: ath12k: driver for Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 devices

ath12k is a new mac80211 driver for Qualcomm Wi-Fi 7 devices, first
supporting QCN9274 and WCN7850 PCI devices. QCN9274 supports both AP
and station; WCN7850 supports only station mode. Monitor mode is not
(yet) supported. Only PCI bus devices are supported.

ath12k is forked from an earlier version of ath11k. It was simpler to
have a "clean start" for the new generation and not try to share the
code with ath11k. This makes maintenance easier and avoids major
changes in ath11k, which would have significantly increased the risk
of regressions in existing setups.

ath12k uses le32 and cpu_to_le32() macros to handle endian
conversions, instead of using the firmware byte swap feature utilized
by ath11k. There is only one kernel module, named ath12k.ko.

Currently ath12k only supports HE mode (IEEE 802.11ax) or older, but
work is ongoing to add EHT mode (IEEE 802.11be) support.

The size of the driver is ~41 kLOC and 45 files. To make the review
easier, this initial version of ath12k does not support Device Tree,
debugfs or any other extra features. Those will be added later, after
ath12k is accepted to upstream.

The driver is build tested by Intel's kernel test robot with both GCC
and Clang. Sparse reports no warnings. The driver is mostly free of
checkpatch warnings, albeit few of the warnings are omitted on
purpose, list of them here:

https://github.com/qca/qca-swiss-army-knife/blob/master/tools/scripts/ath12k/ath12k-check#L52

The driver has had multiple authors who are listed in alphabetical
order below.

treewide: replace '---help---' in Kconfig files with 'help'

Since commit 84af7a6194e4 ("checkpatch: kconfig: prefer 'help' over
'---help---'"), the number of '---help---' has been gradually
decreasing, but there are still more than 2400 instances.

This commit finishes the conversion. While I touched the lines,
I also fixed the indentation.

There are a variety of indentation styles found.

a) 4 spaces + '---help---'
b) 7 spaces + '---help---'
c) 8 spaces + '---help---'
d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---'
e) 1 tab + '---help---' (correct indentation)
f) 1 tab + 1 space + '---help---'
g) 1 tab + 2 spaces + '---help---'

In order to convert all of them to 1 tab + 'help', I ran the
following commend:

$ find . -name 'Kconfig*' | xargs sed -i 's/^[[:space:]]*---help---/\thelp/'

ath11k: driver for Qualcomm IEEE 802.11ax devices

ath11k is a new driver for Qualcomm IEEE 802.11ax devices, first
supporting only IPQ8074 SoC using the shared memory AHB bus. ath11k
uses mac80211 and supports AP, Station and Mesh modes.

Even though ath11k has some similar code as with ath10k (especially
the WMI layer) it was concluded to be simpler to have a "clean start"
for ath11k code base and not try to share the code with ath10k. This
makes maintenance easier and avoids major changes in ath10k, which
would have significantly increased the risk of regressions in existing
setups.

Even though the driver is very similar with ath10k but there are major
differences as well. The datapath is completely different. ath11k
supports multiple MACs, called "soc" in the firmware interface. And
there's only one WMI interface to support.

Currently ath11k supports only IEEE 802.11ac mode, but patches for
802.11ax are available and they will be submitted after ath11k is
accepted to upstream.

The firmware images are available from ath11k-firmware repository but
they will be also submitted to linux-firmware:

https://github.com/kvalo/ath11k-firmware

This was tested with firmware version WLAN.HK.2.1.0.1-00629-QCAHKSWPL_SILICONZ-1.

The driver has had multiple authors who are listed in alphabetical
order below.

net/wireless: fix spaces and grammar copy/paste in vendor Kconfig help text

Lots of the wireless driver vendor Kconfig symol help text says
"questions about cards." (2 spaces between "about" and "cards")

Besides dropping one of those spaces, it also needs some other word
inserted there. Instead of putting each vendor's name there, I chose
to say "these" cards in all of the Kconfig help text.

Here's a new mac80211 driver for Qualcomm Atheros 802.11ac QCA98xx devices.
A major difference from ath9k is that there's now a firmware and
that's why we had to implement a new driver.

wireless: add new wil6210 802.11ad 60GHz driver

This adds support for the 60 GHz 802.11ad Wilocity card
through a new driver, wil6210. Wilocity implemented the
firmware, QCA maintains the device driver.

Currently supported:

- STA: with security
- AP: limited to 1 connected STA, security disabled
- Monitor: due to a hardware/firmware limitation
either control or non-control frames are monitored

Using a STA and AP with this drive, one can assemble
a fully functional BSS. Throughput of 1.2Gbps is achieved
with iperf.

The wil6210 cards have on-board flash memory for the
firmware, the cards comes pre-flashed and no firmware
download is required.

wireless: allow Atheros card to not depend on ath.ko

There are 2 different things:
- sub-menu for "Atheros Wireless cards" family
- module ath.ko with common Atheros code

Until now, they both used to depend on the same Kconfig variable ATH_COMMON.
Thus, being "Atheros card" and "depending on ath.ko" was the same.

To allow module to belong to the
"Atheros Wireless cards" family but not use ath.ko,
2 conditions above need to be separated.

So, this patch introduce new Kconfig variable ATH_CARDS for belonging
to the "Atheros Wireless Cards" family; while ATH_COMMON becomes hidden
variable to express dependency on common Atheros code in ath.ko. Modules
that depend on this common code now express it by setting ATH_COMMON.

Right now, ath6kl do not depend on common code and thus do not set ATH_COMMON.

ar5523: Add new driver

This driver is for the AR5523 chipset from Atheros. It was created
in 2007 by Christoph Hellwig but it was never finished. I found it a
couple of months ago and after some polishing it's working pretty
fine.

The driver was written with the FreeBSD driver (uath) as reference,
which was written with the reverse-engineered windows driver as
reference, hence the feature set is very limited. Station mode
only, no HW crypto offload.

Add ath6kl cleaned up driver

Last May we started working on cleaning up ath6kl driver which is
currently in staging. The work has happened in a separate
ath6kl-cleanup tree:

http://git.kernel.org/?p=linux/kernel/git/kvalo/ath6kl-cleanup.git;a=summary

After over 1100 (!) patches we have now reached a state where I would
like to start discussing about pushing the driver to the wireless
trees and replacing the staging driver.

The driver is now a lot smaller and looks like a proper Linux driver.
The size of the driver (measured with simple wc -l) dropped from 49
kLOC to 18 kLOC and the number of the .c and .h files dropped from 107
to 22. Most importantly the number of subdirectories reduced from 26
to zero :)

There are two remaining checkpatch warnings in the driver which we
decided to omit for now:

drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath6kl/debug.c:31:
WARNING: printk() should include KERN_ facility level
drivers/net/wireless/ath/ath6kl/sdio.c:527:
WARNING: msleep < 20ms can sleep for up to 20ms;
see Documentation/timers/timers-howto.txt

The driver has endian annotations for all the hardware specific
structures and there are no sparse errors. Unfortunately I don't have
any big endian hardware to test that right now.

We have been testing the driver both on x86 and arm platforms. The
code is also compiled with sparc and parisc cross compilers.

Notable missing features compared to the current staging driver are:

o HCI over SDIO support
o nl80211 testmode
o firmware logging
o suspend support

Testmode, firmware logging and suspend support will be added soon. HCI
over SDIO support will be more difficult as the HCI driver needs to
share code with the wifi driver. This is something we need to research
more.

Also I want to point out the changes I did for signed endian support.
As I wasn't able to find any support for signed endian annotations I
decided to follow what NTFS has done and added my own. Grep for sle16
and sle32, especially from wmi.h.

Various people have been working on the cleanup, the hall of
fame based on number of patches is:

ath: add common ath_rxbuf_alloc() and make ath9k use it

Turns out ath5k and ath9k can share the same helper to
allocates RX skbs. We allocate skbs aligned to the cache line
size. This requirement seems to have come from AR5210; when
this was not done it seems sometimes we'd get bogus data. I'm
also told it may have been a performance enhancement
consideration. In the end I can't be sure we can remove this
on new hardware so just keep this and start sharing it through
ath.ko.

Make ath9k start using this, ath5k is next.
