drm/exynos-drm: Run DRM default client setup

Rework fbdev probing to support fbdev_probe in struct drm_driver
and remove the old fb_probe callback. Provide an initializer macro
for struct drm_driver that sets the callback according to the kernel
configuration.

Call drm_client_setup() to run the kernel's default client setup
for DRM. Set fbdev_probe in struct drm_driver, so that the client
setup can start the common fbdev client.

The exynos-drm driver specifies a preferred color mode of 32. As this
is the default if no format has been given, leave it out entirely.

Revert "drm: Switch DRM_DISPLAY_HELPER to depends on"

This reverts commit e075e496f516bf92bc0cbaf94d64e8d4a6b58321, as helper
code should always be selected by the driver that needs it, for the
convenience of the final user configuring a kernel.

The user who configures a kernel should not need to know which helpers
are needed for the driver he is interested in. Making a driver depend
on helper code means that the user needs to know which helpers to enable
first, which is very user-unfriendly.

Both the exynos and rockchip drivers ran into link failures after
a Kconfig cleanup:

In both cases, the problem is that ROCKCHIP_CDN_DP and DRM_EXYNOS_DP
are 'bool' symbols that depend on the the 'tristate' DRM_DISPLAY_HELPER
symbol, but end up not working when the SoC specific part is built-in
but the helper is in a loadable module.

Use the same trick that DRM_ROCKCHIP already uses for the EXTCON
dependency and disallow DP support when it would not work.

drm: Switch DRM_DISPLAY_DP_HELPER to depends on

Most of our helpers have relied on being selected so far through
Kconfig, but that creates issues when we have multiple layers of helpers
with some depending on others.

Indeed, select doesn't select a dependency's dependencies, and thus
isn't super intuitive. Depends on however doesn't have that limitation,
so we can just switch all the drivers that were selecting

drm/exynos: Use regular fbdev I/O helpers

Use the regular fbdev helpers for framebuffer I/O instead of DRM's
helpers. Exynos does not use damage handling, so DRM's fbdev helpers
are mere wrappers around the fbdev code.

By using fbdev helpers directly within each DRM fbdev emulation,
we can eventually remove DRM's wrapper functions entirely.

drm: bridge: Generalize Exynos-DSI driver into a Samsung DSIM bridge

Samsung MIPI DSIM controller is common DSI IP that can be used in various
SoCs like Exynos, i.MX8M Mini/Nano.

In order to access this DSI controller between various platform SoCs,
the ideal way to incorporate this in the drm stack is via the drm bridge
driver.

We already have a consolidated code for supporting component and bridge
based DRM drivers, so keep the exynos component based code in existing
exynos_drm_dsi.c and move generic bridge code as part of samsung-dsim.c

drm: Drop ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM from dependencies

Some of these dependencies used to be sensible when only a small part of
the platforms supported by ARCH=arm could be compiled together in a
single kernel image. Nowadays ARCH_MULTIPLATFORM is only used as a guard
for kernel options incompatible with a multiplatform image. See commit

drm/display: Introduce a DRM display-helper module

Replace the DP-helper module with a display-helper module. The
support for DisplayPort becomes an internal option that drivers
have to select. Update all related Kconfig and Makefile rules.

Besides the existing code for DisplayPort, the new module will
contain helpers for other video-output standards, such as HDMI.
Drivers will have to select their required video-output helpers.

Linking all display-related code into a single module avoids the
proliferation of small kernel modules.

The module parameters drm_dp_cec_unregister_delay, dp_aux_i2c_speed_khz,
and dp_aux_i2c_transfer_size are moving from the drm_dp_helper namespace
to drm_display_helper.

Note that pin_user_pages_fast is a safe replacement despite the
seeming lack of checking for vma->vm_flasg & (VM_IO | VM_PFNMAP). Such
ptes are marked with pte_mkspecial (which pup_fast rejects in the

Add a CONFIG_MMU dependency to ensure we only enable this in configurations
that build correctly.

Many other drm drivers have the same dependency. It would be nice to
make this work in MMU-less configurations, but evidently nobody has
ever needed this so far.

drm/exynos: trigger build of all modules

Add COMPILE_TEST dependency to force exynos driver to
built for more than arm and to built modules
that otherwise required other symbols to be de-selected.

This will increase build coverage of the exynos driver
thus allowing most trivial build errors to be detected/fixed early.

This introduces one warning when built using sh:
exynos7_drm_decon.c: In function ‘decon_remove’:
exynos7_drm_decon.c:769:24: warning: unused variable ‘ctx’
struct decon_context *ctx = dev_get_drvdata(&pdev->dev);

This is due to the definition of iounmap() in sh,
and nothing that exynos driver can fix.

Include fix of exynos build for alpha.

drm/exynos: Add driver for Exynos Scaler module

Exynos Scaler is a hardware module, which processes graphic data fetched
from memory and transfers the resultant dato another memory buffer.
Graphics data can be up/down-scaled, rotated, flipped and converted color
space. Scaler hardware modules are a part of Exynos5420 and newer Exynos
SoCs.

drm/exynos: gsc: Convert driver to IPP v2 core API

This patch adapts Exynos DRM GScaler driver to new IPP v2 core API.
The side effect of this conversion is a switch to driver component API
to register properly in the Exynos DRM core. During the conversion
driver has been adapted to support more specific compatible strings
to distinguish between Exynos5250 and Exynos5420 (different hardware
limits). Support for Exynos5433 variant has been added too
(different limits table, removed dependency on ARCH_EXYNOS5).

drm/exynos: ipp: Add IPP v2 framework

This patch adds Exynos IPP v2 subsystem and userspace API.

New userspace API is focused ONLY on memory-to-memory image processing.
The two remainging operation modes of obsolete IPP v1 API (framebuffer
writeback and local-path output with image processing) can be implemented
using standard DRM features: writeback connectors and additional DRM planes
with scaling features.

V2 IPP userspace API is based on stateless approach, which much better fits
to memory-to-memory image processing model. It also provides support for
all image formats, which are both already defined in DRM API and supported
by the existing IPP hardware modules.

The API consists of the following ioctls:
- DRM_IOCTL_EXYNOS_IPP_GET_RESOURCES: to enumerate all available image
processing modules,
- DRM_IOCTL_EXYNOS_IPP_GET_CAPS: to query capabilities and supported image
formats of given IPP module,
- DRM_IOCTL_EXYNOS_IPP_GET_LIMITS: to query hardware limitiations for
selected image format of given IPP module,
- DRM_IOCTL_EXYNOS_IPP_COMMIT: to perform operation described by the
provided structures (source and destination buffers, operation rectangle,
transformation, etc).

The proposed userspace API is extensible. In the future more advanced image
processing operations can be defined to support for example blending.

Userspace API is fully functional also on DRM render nodes, so it is not
limited to the root/privileged client.

Internal driver API also has been completely rewritten. New IPP core
performs all possible input validation, checks and object life-time
control. The drivers can focus only on writing configuration to hardware
registers. Stateless nature of DRM_IOCTL_EXYNOS_IPP_COMMIT ioctl simplifies
the driver API. Minimal driver needs to provide a single callback for
starting processing and an array with supported image formats.
