parisc uses a top-down layout by default that exactly fits the generic functions, so get rid of arch specific code and use the generic version by selecting ARCH_WANT_DEFAULT_TOPDOWN_MMAP_LAYOUT.
Note that on parisc the stack always grows up and a "unlimited stack" simply means that the value as defined in CONFIG_STACK_MAX_DEFAULT_SIZE_MB should be used. So RLIM_INFINITY is not an indicator to use the legacy memory layout.

Before commit 076cbf5d2163 ("x86/xen: don't let xen_pv_play_dead() return"), in Xen, when a previously offlined CPU was brought back online, it unexpectedly resumed execution where it left off in the middle of the idle loop.
There were some hacks to make that work, but the behavior was surprising as do_idle() doesn't expect an offlined CPU to return from the dead (in arch_cpu_idle_dead()).
Now that Xen has been fixed, and the arch-specific implementations of arch_cpu_idle_dead() also don't return, give it a __noreturn attribute.
This will cause the compiler to complain if an arch-specific implementation might return. It also improves code generation for both caller and callee.
Also fixes the following warning:

Current arch_cpu_idle() is called with IRQs disabled, but will return with IRQs enabled.
However, the very first thing the generic code does after calling arch_cpu_idle() is raw_local_irq_disable(). This means that architectures that can idle with IRQs disabled end up doing a pointless 'enable-disable' dance.
Therefore, push this IRQ disabling into the idle function, meaning that those architectures can avoid the pointless IRQ state flipping.

Replace the deprecated wrapper with a direct call to the real function. The same also applies to get_random_int(), which is just a wrapper around get_random_u32(). This was done as a basic find and replace.

Add fn and fn_arg members into struct kernel_clone_args and test for them in copy_thread (instead of testing for PF_KTHREAD | PF_IO_WORKER). This allows any task that wants to be a user space task that only runs in kernel mode to use this functionality.
The code on x86 is an exception and still retains a PF_KTHREAD test because x86 unlikely everything else handles kthreads slightly differently than user space tasks that start with a function.
The functions that created tasks that start with a function have been updated to set ".fn" and ".fn_arg" instead of ".stack" and ".stack_size". These functions are fork_idle(), create_io_thread(), kernel_thread(), and user_mode_thread().

Fullfill the expectations of the rest of the copy_thread implemetations and pass a function pointer in .stack from fork_idle(). This makes what is happening in copy_thread better defined, and is useful to make idle threads less special.

The kernel task that exec's init and tasks that exec user mode helpers are also user mode tasks that just run kernel code until they call kernel execve.
Pass kernel_clone_args into copy_thread so these oddball tasks can be supported more cleanly and easily.

mm: remove unneeded includes of <asm/pgalloc.h>
Patch series "mm: cleanup usage of <asm/pgalloc.h>"
Most architectures have very similar versions of pXd_alloc_one() and pXd_free_one() for intermediate levels of page table. These patches add generic versions of these functions in <asm-generic/pgalloc.h> and enable use of the generic functions where appropriate.
In addition, functions declared and defined in <asm/pgalloc.h> headers are used mostly by core mm and early mm initialization in arch and there is no actual reason to have the <asm/pgalloc.h> included all over the place. The first patch in this series removes unneeded includes of <asm/pgalloc.h>
In the end it didn't work out as neatly as I hoped and moving pXd_alloc_track() definitions to <asm-generic/pgalloc.h> would require unnecessary changes to arches that have custom page table allocations, so I've decided to move lib/ioremap.c to mm/ and make pgalloc-track.h local to mm/.
This patch (of 8):
In most cases <asm/pgalloc.h> header is required only for allocations of page table memory. Most of the .c files that include that header do not use symbols declared in <asm/pgalloc.h> and do not require that header.
As for the other header files that used to include <asm/pgalloc.h>, it is possible to move that include into the .c file that actually uses symbols from <asm/pgalloc.h> and drop the include from the header file.
The process was somewhat automated using
sed -i -E '/[<"]asm\/pgalloc\.h/d' \ $(grep -L -w -f /tmp/xx \ $(git grep -E -l '[<"]asm/pgalloc\.h'))
where /tmp/xx contains all the symbols defined in arch/*/include/asm/pgalloc.h.

Now that we've renamed probe_kernel_address() to get_kernel_nofault() and made it look and behave more in line with get_user(), some of the subtle type behavior differences end up being more obvious and possibly dangerous.
When you do
get_user(val, user_ptr);
the type of the access comes from the "user_ptr" part, and the above basically acts as
val = *user_ptr;
by design (except, of course, for the fact that the actual dereference is done with a user access).
Note how in the above case, the type of the end result comes from the pointer argument, and then the value is cast to the type of 'val' as part of the assignment.
So the type of the pointer is ultimately the more important type both for the access itself.
But 'get_kernel_nofault()' may now _look_ similar, but it behaves very differently. When you do
get_kernel_nofault(val, kernel_ptr);
it behaves like
val = *(typeof(val) *)kernel_ptr;
except, of course, for the fact that the actual dereference is done with exception handling so that a faulting access is suppressed and returned as the error code.
But note how different the casting behavior of the two superficially similar accesses are: one does the actual access in the size of the type the pointer points to, while the other does the access in the size of the target, and ignores the pointer type entirely.
Actually changing get_kernel_nofault() to act like get_user() is almost certainly the right thing to do eventually, but in the meantime this patch adds logit to at least verify that the pointer type is compatible with the type of the result.
In many cases, this involves just casting the pointer to 'void *' to make it obvious that the type of the pointer is not the important part. It's not how 'get_user()' acts, but at least the behavioral difference is now obvious and explicit.
