        <title>a7a447be - [yaml2obj] - ProgramHeaders: introduce FirstSec/LastSec instead of Sections list.</title>
        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/llvm-project-15.0.7/llvm/test/tools/llvm-objcopy/ELF/segment-shift-section-remove.test#a7a447be</link>
<description>[yaml2obj] - ProgramHeaders: introduce FirstSec/LastSec instead of Sections list.Imagine we have a YAML declaration of few sections: `foo1`, `&lt;unnamed 2&gt;`, `foo3`, `foo4`.To put them into segment we can do (1*):```Sections: - Section: foo1 - Section: foo4```or we can use (2*):```Sections: - Section: foo1 - Section: foo3 - Section: foo4```or (3*) :```Sections: - Section: foo1## &quot;(index 2)&quot; here is a name that we automatically created for a unnamed section. - Section: (index 2) - Section: foo3 - Section: foo4```It looks really confusing that we don&apos;t have to list all of sections. At first I&apos;ve tried to make this rule stricter and report an error when there is a gap(i.e. when a section is included into segment, but not listed explicitly). This did not work perfect, because such approach conflicts with unnamed sections/fills (see (3*)).This patch drops &quot;Sections&quot; key and introduces 2 keys instead: `FirstSec` and `LastSec`.Both are optional.Differential revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D90458

<description>[yaml2obj] - Set a default value for `PAddr` property of a program header to a value of `VAddr``PAddr` corresponds to `p_paddr` of a program header, which is the segment&apos;s physicaladdress for systems in which physical addressing is relevant. `p_paddr` is often equalto `p_vaddr`, which is the virtual address of a segment. This patch changes the default for `PAddr` from 0 to a value of `VAddr`.Differential revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D76131

<description>[yaml2obj][obj2yaml] - Do not create a symbol table by default. This patch tries to resolve problems faced in D68943and uses some of the code written by Konrad Wilhelm Kleinein that patch.Previously, yaml2obj tool always created a .symtab section. This patch changes that. With it we only create it whenhave a &quot;Symbols:&quot; tag in the YAML document or whenwe need to create it because it is used by another section(s).obj2yaml follows the new behavior and does not print &quot;Symbols:&quot;anymore when there is no symbol table.Differential revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D69041llvm-svn: 375361

<description>[llvm-objcopy][NFC] Consistenly use two dashes for flags in tests.Summary:As pointed out in D53667, our use of hyphens in flags can be inconsistent, mixing `-` with `--`. This change makes all long style flags use `--`.Automatically changed via:```find test/tools/llvm-objcopy/ELF -type f | xargs sed -i &apos;s/ -\([a-zA-Z]\{3\}\)/ --\1/g&apos;```Two false positives were manually fixed/reverted.Reviewers: jhenderson, espindola, alexshapReviewed By: jhendersonSubscribers: emaste, javed.absar, arichardson, fedor.sergeev, jakehehrlich, llvm-commitsDifferential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D56513llvm-svn: 350944
