<description>Move EntryExitInstrumentation pass locationThis seems to be more of a Clang thing rather than a generic LLVM thing,so this moves it out of LLVM pipelines and as Clang extension hooks intoLLVM pipelines.Move the post-inline EEInstrumentation out of the backend pipeline andinto a late pass, similar to other sanitizer passes. It doesn&apos;t fitinto the codegen pipeline. Also fix up EntryExitInstrumentation not running at -O0 under the newPM. PR49143Reviewed By: hansDifferential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D97608

<title>e1ecd61b - Rename CountingFunctionInserter and use for both mcount and cygprofile calls, before and after inlining</title>
        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/llvm-project-15.0.7/llvm/test/CodeGen/PowerPC/mcount-insertion.ll#e1ecd61b</link>
<description>Rename CountingFunctionInserter and use for both mcount and cygprofile calls, before and after inliningClang implements the -finstrument-functions flag inherited from GCC, whichinserts calls to __cyg_profile_func_{enter,exit} on function entry and exit. This is useful for getting a trace of how the functions in a program areexecuted. Normally, the calls remain even if a function is inlined into anotherfunction, but it is useful to be able to turn this off for users who areinterested in a lower-level trace, i.e. one that reflects what functions arecalled post-inlining. (We use this to generate link order files for Chromium.)LLVM already has a pass for inserting similar instrumentation calls tomcount(), which it does after inlining. This patch renames and extends thatpass to handle calls both to mcount and the cygprofile functions, before and/orafter inlining as controlled by function attributes.Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D39287llvm-svn: 318195

        <title>40d7f5c2 - Add a counter-function insertion pass</title>
        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/llvm-project-15.0.7/llvm/test/CodeGen/PowerPC/mcount-insertion.ll#40d7f5c2</link>
<description>Add a counter-function insertion passAs discussed in https://reviews.llvm.org/D22666, our current mechanism tosupport -pg profiling, where we insert calls to mcount(), or some similarfunction, is fundamentally broken. We insert these calls in the frontend, whichmeans they get duplicated when inlining, and so the accumulated executioncounts for the inlined-into functions are wrong.Because we don&apos;t want the presence of these functions to affect optimizaton, they should be inserted in the backend. Here&apos;s a pass which would do just that. The knowledge of the name of the counting function lives in the frontend, sowe&apos;re passing it here as a function attribute. Clang will be updated to usethis mechanism.Differential Revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D22825llvm-svn: 280347
