<description>Emit smaller exception tables for non-SJLJ mode.* Use uleb128 for code offsets in the LSDA call site table.* Omit the TTBase offset if the type table is empty. This change can reduce the size of the DWARF/Itanium LSDA by about half.Patch by Ryan Prichard!llvm-svn: 324750

<title>d09b4169 - Use assembler expressions to lay out the EH LSDA.</title>
        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/llvm-project-15.0.7/llvm/test/CodeGen/ARM/ehabi-handlerdata-nounwind.ll#d09b4169</link>
<description>Use assembler expressions to lay out the EH LSDA.Rely on the assembler to finalize the layout of the DWARF/Itaniumexception-handling LSDA. Rather than calculate the exact size of eachthing in the LSDA, use assembler directives: To emit the offset to the TTBase label:.uleb128 .Lttbase0-.Lttbaseref0.Lttbaseref0: To emit the size of the call site table:.uleb128 .Lcst_end0-.Lcst_begin0.Lcst_begin0:... call site table entries ....Lcst_end0: To align the type info table:... action table ....balign 4.long _ZTIi.long _ZTIl.Lttbase0:Using assembler directives simplifies the compiler and allows switchingthe encoding of offsets in the call site table from udata4 to uleb128 fora large code size savings. (This commit does not change the encoding.)The combination of the uleb128 followed by a balign creates an unfortunatedependency cycle that the assembler must sometimes resolve either bypadding an LEB or by inserting zero padding before the type table. SeePR35809 or GNU as bug 4029.Patch by Ryan Prichard!llvm-svn: 324749

        <title>61d15ae4 - [MC] Use .p2align instead of .align</title>
        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/llvm-project-15.0.7/llvm/test/CodeGen/ARM/ehabi-handlerdata-nounwind.ll#61d15ae4</link>
<description>[MC] Use .p2align instead of .alignFor historic reasons, the behavior of .align differs between targets.Fortunately, there are alternatives, .p2align and .balign, which make theinterpretation of the parameter explicit, and which behave consistently acrosstargets. This patch teaches MC to use .p2align instead of .align, so that people readingcode for multiple architectures don&apos;t have to remember which way each platformdoes its .align directive.Differential Revision: http://reviews.llvm.org/D16549llvm-svn: 258750

<title>7fddeccb - Move the personality function from LandingPadInst to Function</title>
        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/llvm-project-15.0.7/llvm/test/CodeGen/ARM/ehabi-handlerdata-nounwind.ll#7fddeccb</link>
<description>Move the personality function from LandingPadInst to FunctionThe personality routine currently lives in the LandingPadInst. This isn&apos;t desirable because:- All LandingPadInsts in the same function must have the same personality routine. This means that each LandingPadInst beyond the first has an operand which produces no additional information.- There is ongoing work to introduce EH IR constructs other than LandingPadInst. Moving the personality routine off of any one particular Instruction and onto the parent function seems a lot better than have N different places a personality function can sneak onto an exceptional function.Differential Revision: http://reviews.llvm.org/D10429llvm-svn: 239940

<title>95188b90 - Fix ARM EHABI when function has landingpad and nounwind.</title>

<description>Fix ARM EHABI when function has landingpad and nounwind. If the function has the landingpad instruction, then thehandlerdata should be emitted even if the function hasnouwnind attribute. Otherwise, following code will notwork: void test1() noexcept { try { throw_exception(); } catch (...) { log_unexpected_exception(); } }Since the cantunwind was incorrectly emitted and theLSDA is not available.llvm-svn: 208791
