<title>836a7e84 - Improve our handling of user-defined conversions when computing</title>
        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/llvm-project-15.0.7/clang/test/SemaCXX/overload-call-copycon.cpp#836a7e84</link>
<description>Improve our handling of user-defined conversions when computingimplicit conversion sequences. In particular, model the &quot;standardconversion&quot; from a class to its own type (or a base type) directly asa standard conversion in the normal path *without* trying to determineif there is a valid copy constructor. This appears to match the intentof C++ [over.best.ics]p6 and more closely matches GCC and EDG.As part of this, model non-lvalue reference initialization viauser-defined conversion in overloading the same way we handle it inInitializationSequence, separating the &quot;general user-definedconversion&quot; and &quot;conversion to compatible class type&quot; cases. The churn in the overload-call-copycon.cpp test case is because thetest case was originally wrong; it assumed that we should do morechecking for copy constructors that we actually should, which affectedoverload resolution.Fixes PR7055. Bootstrapped okay.llvm-svn: 110773

<description>Fix a major oversight in the comparison of standard conversionsequences, where we would occasionally determine (incorrectly) thatone standard conversion sequence was a proper subset of another when,in fact, they contained completely incomparable conversions. This change records the types in each step within a standardconversion sequence, so that we can check the specific comparisontypes to determine when one sequence is a proper subset of theother. Fixes this testcase (thanks, Anders!), which was distilled fromPR6095 (also thanks to Anders).llvm-svn: 94660

<description>Update tests to use %clang_cc1 instead of &apos;clang-cc&apos; or &apos;clang -cc1&apos;. - This is designed to make it obvious that %clang_cc1 is a &quot;test variable&quot; which is substituted. It is &apos;%clang_cc1&apos; instead of &apos;%clang -cc1&apos; because it can be useful to redefine what gets run as &apos;clang -cc1&apos; (for example, to set a default target).llvm-svn: 91446

<description>Standard conversion sequences now have a CopyConstructor field, tocope with the case where a user-defined conversion is actually a copyconstruction, and therefore can be compared against other standardconversion sequences. While I called this a hack before, now I&apos;mconvinced that it&apos;s the right way to go.Compare overloads based on derived-to-base conversions that invokecopy constructors. Suppress user-defined conversions when attempting to call auser-defined conversion.llvm-svn: 58629

<description>Add implicitly-declared default and copy constructors to C++ classes, when appropriate.Conversions for class types now make use of copy constructors. I&apos;vereplaced the egregious hack allowing class-to-class conversions with aslightly less egregious hack calling these conversions standardconversions (for overloading reasons).llvm-svn: 58622
