<description>Use functions with prototypes when appropriate; NFCA significant number of our tests in C accidentally use functionswithout prototypes. This patch converts the function signatures to havea prototype for the situations where the test is not specific to K&amp;R Cdeclarations. e.g., void func();becomes void func(void); This is the twelfth batch of tests being updated (the end may be insight soon though).

        <title>6b335179 - [test] Add {{.*}} to make tests immune to dso_local/dso_preemptable/(none) differences</title>
        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/llvm-project-15.0.7/clang/test/CodeGenObjC/constant-string-class.m#6b335179</link>
<description>[test] Add {{.*}} to make tests immune to dso_local/dso_preemptable/(none) differencesFor a definition (of most linkage types), dso_local is set for ELF -fno-pic/-fpieand COFF, but not for Mach-O. This nuance causes unneeded binary format differences. This patch replaces (function) `define ` with `define{{.*}} `,(variable/constant/alias) `= ` with `={{.*}} `, or inserts appropriate `{{.*}} `if there is an explicit linkage.* Clang will set dso_local for Mach-O, which is currently implied by TargetMachine.cpp. This will make COFF/Mach-O and executable ELF similar.* Eventually I hope we can make dso_local the textual LLVM IR default (write explicit &quot;dso_preemptable&quot; when applicable) and -fpic ELF will be similar to everything else. This patch helps move toward that goal.

<description>Recommit #2 &quot;[Driver] Default to -fno-common for all targets&quot; After a first attempt to fix the test-suite failures, my first recommitcaused the same failures again. I had updated CMakeList.txt files oftests that needed -fcommon, but it turns out that there are alsoMakefiles which are used by some bots, so I&apos;ve updated these Makefilesnow too.See the original commit message for more details on this change:0a9fc9233e172601e26381810d093e02ef410f65

<description>[Driver] Default to -fno-common for all targetsThis makes -fno-common the default for all targets because this has performanceand code-size benefits and is more language conforming for C code.Additionally, GCC10 also defaults to -fno-common and so we get consistentbehaviour with GCC.With this change, C code that uses tentative definitions as definitions of avariable in multiple translation units will trigger multiple-definition linkererrors. Generally, this occurs when the use of the extern keyword is neglectedin the declaration of a variable in a header file. In some cases, no specifictranslation unit provides a definition of the variable. The previous behaviorcan be restored by specifying -fcommon.As GCC has switched already, we benefit from applications already being portedand existing documentation how to do this. For example:- https://gcc.gnu.org/gcc-10/porting_to.html- https://wiki.gentoo.org/wiki/Gcc_10_porting_notes/fno_commonDifferential revision: https://reviews.llvm.org/D75056

<description>Restructure how the driver communicates information about thetarget Objective-C runtime down to the frontend: break thisdown into a single target runtime kind and version, and computeall the relevant information from that. This makes itrelatively painless to add support for new runtimes to thecompiler. Make the new -cc1 flag, -fobjc-runtime=blah-x.y.z,available at the driver level as a better and more generalalternative to -fgnu-runtime and -fnext-runtime. This newconcept of an Objective-C runtime also encompasses what wewere previously separating out as the &quot;Objective-C ABI&quot;, sofragile vs. non-fragile runtimes are now really modelled asdifferent kinds of runtime, paving the way for better overalldifferentiation. As a sort of special case, continue to accept the -cc1 flag-fobjc-runtime-has-weak, as a sop to PLCompatibilityWeak.I won&apos;t go so far as to say &quot;no functionality change&quot;, evenignoring the new driver flag, but subtle changes in driversemantics are almost certainly not intended.llvm-svn: 158793

<description>Make -fobjc-nonfragile-abi the -cc1 default, since it&apos;s theincreasingly prevailing case to the point that new featureslike ARC don&apos;t even support the fragile ABI anymore. This required a little bit of reshuffling with exceptionsbecause a check was assuming that ObjCNonFragileABI wasonly being set in ObjC mode, and that&apos;s actually a bitobnoxious to do.Most, though, it involved a perl script to translate a tonof test cases.Mostly no functionality change for driver users, althoughthere are corner cases with disabling language-specificexceptions that we should handle more correctly now.llvm-svn: 140957
