796bcae7 - USB: powerpc: Workaround for the PPC440EPX USBH_23 errata [take 3]

USB: powerpc: Workaround for the PPC440EPX USBH_23 errata [take 3]A published errata for ppc440epx states, that when running Linux withboth EHCI and OHCI modules loaded, the EHCI module experiences a fatalerror when a high-speed device is connected to the USB2.0, andfunctions normally if OHCI module is not loaded. There used to be recommendation to use only hi-speed or full-speeddevices with specific conditions, when respective module was unloaded.Later, it was observed that ohci suspend is enough to keep thingsgoing, and it was turned into workaround, as explained below.Quote from original descriprion:The 440EPx USB 2.0 Host controller is an EHCI compliant controller. InUSB 2.0 Host controllers, each EHCI controller has one or more companioncontrollers, which may be OHCI or UHCI. An USB 2.0 Host controller willcontain one or more ports. For each port, only one of the controllersis connected at any one time. In the 440EPx, there is only one OHCIcompanion controller, and only one USB 2.0 Host port. All ports on an USB 2.0 controller default to the companioncontroller. If you load only an ohci driver, it will have control ofthe ports and any deviceplugged in will operate, although high speeddevices will be forced to operate at full speed. When an ehci driveris loaded, it explicitly takes control of the ports. If there is adevice connected, and / or every time there is a new device connected, the ehci driver determines if the device is high speed or not. If itis high speed, the driver retains control of the port. If it is not,the driver explicitly gives the companion controller control of theport. The is a software workaround that usesInitial version of the software workaround was posted tolinux-usb-devel:http://www.mail-archive.com/linux-usb-devel@lists.sourceforge.net/msg54019.htmland later available from amcc.com:http://www.amcc.com/Embedded/Downloads/download.html?cat=1&family=15&ins=2The patch below is generally based on the latter, but reworked topowerpc/of_device USB drivers, and uses a few devicetree inquiries toget rid of (some) hardcoded defines.Signed-off-by: Vitaly Bordug <vitb@kernel.crashing.org>Signed-off-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>Cc: David Brownell <dbrownell@users.sourceforge.net>Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@suse.de>

05781ccd - ibm_newemac: Parameterize EMAC Multicast Match Handling

ibm_newemac: Parameterize EMAC Multicast Match HandlingVarious instances of the EMAC core have varying: 1) number of addressmatch slots, 2) width of the registers for handling address match slots,3) number of registers for handling address match slots and 4) baseoffset for those registers. As the driver stands today, it assumes that all EMACs have 4 IAHT andGAHT 32-bit registers, starting at offset 0x30 from the register base, with only 16-bits of each used for a total of 64 match slots. The 405EX(r) and 460EX now use the EMAC4SYNC core rather than the EMAC4core. This core has 8 IAHT and GAHT registers, starting at offset 0x80from the register base, with ALL 32-bits of each used for a total of256 match slots. This adds a new compatible device tree entry "emac4sync" and a new, related feature flag "EMAC_FTR_EMAC4SYNC" along with a series of macrosand inlines which supply the appropriate parameterized value based onthe presence or absence of the EMAC4SYNC feature. The code has further been reworked where appropriate to use those macrosand inlines. In addition, the register size passed to ioremap is now taken from thedevice tree:	c4 for EMAC4SYNC cores	74 for EMAC4 cores	70 for EMAC coresrather than sizeof (emac_regs).Finally, the device trees have been updated with the appropriate compatibleentries and resource sizes. This has been tested on an AMCC Haleakala board such that: 1) inboundICMP requests to 'haleakala.local' via MDNS from both Mac OS X 10.4.11and Ubuntu 8.04 systems as well as 2) outbound ICMP requests from'haleakala.local' to those same systems in the '.local' domain via MDNSnow work.Signed-off-by: Grant Erickson <gerickson@nuovations.com>Acked-by: Jeff Garzik <jgarzik@pobox.com>Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>

[POWERPC] Convert remaining dts-v0 files to v1At the moment we have a mixture of left-over version 0 and new-formatversion 1 files in arch/powerpc/boot/dts. This is potentiallyconfusing to people new to the dts format attempting to figure it out.So, this patch converts all the as-yet unconverted dts v0 files andconverts them to v1. They're mechanically-converted, and not handtweaked so in some cases they're not 100% in keeping with usual v1style, but the convertor program does have some heuristics so thediscrepancies aren't too bad.I have checked that this patch produces no changes to the resultingdtb binaries.Signed-off-by: David Gibson <david@gibson.dropbear.id.au>Acked-by: Josh Boyer <jwboyer@linux.vnet.ibm.com>Acked-by: Geoff Levand <geoffrey.levand@am.sony.com>Signed-off-by: Josh Boyer <jwboyer@linux.vnet.ibm.com>

[POWERPC] Start removing linux,network-index in favour of aliasesThis patch alters the bootwrapper for a number of machines (roubhlyall 4xx based cuboot or treeboot platforms) to use aliases instead ofthe linux,network-index hack to work out which MAC address to attachto which ethernet device node. The now obsolete linux,network-index properties are removed from thecorresponding device trees. This won't break backwards compatiblity, because in cases where this fixup code is relevant, the device tree ispart of the kernel image. The references to linux,network-index are removed frombooting-without-of.txt. Not only is it now deprecated, but as a hackapplicable only when the device tree blob and fixup code were in thesame image, this property never belonged in booting-without-of.txtwhich describes the interface between the kernel and firmware orbootloaders which produce a device tree. By the time the device treereaches the kernel, all the MAC addresses must be fully filled in.Signed-off-by: David Gibson <david@gibson.dropbear.id.au>Signed-off-by: Josh Boyer <jwboyer@linux.vnet.ibm.com>

ibm_newemac: Cleanup/fix support for STACR register variantsThere are a few variants of the STACR register that affect more thanjust the "AXON" version of EMAC. Replace the current test of variouschip models with tests for generic properties in the device-tree.Signed-off-by: Benjamin Herrenschmidt <benh@kernel.crashing.org>Acked-by: Stefan Roese <sr@denx.de>Signed-off-by: Jeff Garzik <jeff@garzik.org>
