mm/ioremap: pass pgprot_t to ioremap_prot() instead of unsigned longioremap_prot() currently accepts pgprot_val parameter as an unsigned long, thus implicitly assuming that pgprot_val and pgprot_t could never bebigger than unsigned long. But this assumption soon will not be true onarm64 when using D128 pgtables. In 128 bit page table configuration, unsigned long is 64 bit, but pgprot_t is 128 bit.Passing platform abstracted pgprot_t argument is better as compared tosize based data types. Let's change the parameter to directly passpgprot_t like another similar helper generic_ioremap_prot().Without this change in place, D128 configuration does not work on arm64 asthe top 64 bits gets silently stripped when passing the protection valueto this function.Link: https://lkml.kernel.org/r/20250218101954.415331-1-anshuman.khandual@arm.comSigned-off-by: Ryan Roberts <ryan.roberts@arm.com>Co-developed-by: Anshuman Khandual <anshuman.khandual@arm.com>Signed-off-by: Anshuman Khandual <anshuman.khandual@arm.com>Acked-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com> [arm64]Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org>

mm: move ioremap_page_range to vmalloc.cPatch series "small ioremap cleanups".The first patch moves a little code around the vmalloc/ioremap boundaryfollowing a bigger move by Nick earlier. The second enforcesnon-executable mapping on ioremap just like we do for vmap. No drivercurrently uses executable mappings anyway, as they should. This patch (of 2):This keeps it together with the implementation, and to remove thevmap_range wrapper.Link: https://lkml.kernel.org/r/20210824091259.1324527-1-hch@lst.deLink: https://lkml.kernel.org/r/20210824091259.1324527-2-hch@lst.deSigned-off-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de>Reviewed-by: Nicholas Piggin <npiggin@gmail.com>Cc: Peter Zijlstra <peterz@infradead.org>Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org>Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>

mm/ioremap: fix iomap_max_page_shiftiomap_max_page_shift is expected to contain a page shift, so it can't be a'bool', has to be an 'unsigned int'And fix the default values: P4D_SHIFT is when huge iomap is allowed. However, on some architectures (eg: powerpc book3s/64), P4D_SHIFT is not aconstant so it can't be used to initialise a static variable. So,initialise iomap_max_page_shift with a maximum shift supported by thearchitecture, it is gated by P4D_SHIFT in vmap_try_huge_p4d() anyway.Link: https://lkml.kernel.org/r/ad2d366015794a9f21320dcbdd0a8eb98979e9df.1620898113.git.christophe.leroy@csgroup.euFixes: bbc180a5adb0 ("mm: HUGE_VMAP arch support cleanup")Signed-off-by: Christophe Leroy <christophe.leroy@csgroup.eu>Reviewed-by: Nicholas Piggin <npiggin@gmail.com>Reviewed-by: Anshuman Khandual <anshuman.khandual@arm.com>Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org>Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>

mm: HUGE_VMAP arch support cleanupThis changes the awkward approach where architectures provide initfunctions to determine which levels they can provide large mappings for,to one where the arch is queried for each call. This removes code and indirection, and allows constant-folding of deadcode for unsupported levels. This also adds a prot argument to the arch query. This is unusedcurrently but could help with some architectures (e.g., some powerpcprocessors can't map uncacheable memory with large pages).Link: https://lkml.kernel.org/r/20210317062402.533919-7-npiggin@gmail.comSigned-off-by: Nicholas Piggin <npiggin@gmail.com>Reviewed-by: Ding Tianhong <dingtianhong@huawei.com>Acked-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com> [arm64]Cc: Will Deacon <will@kernel.org>Cc: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>Cc: Ingo Molnar <mingo@redhat.com>Cc: Borislav Petkov <bp@alien8.de>Cc: "H.
