net: dcb: add new rewrite tableAdd new rewrite table and all the required functions, offload hooks andbookkeeping for maintaining it. The rewrite table reuses the app struct, and the entire set of app selectors. As such, some bookeeping code canbe shared between the rewrite- and the APP table.New functions for getting, setting and deleting entries has been added.Apart from operating on the rewrite list, these functions do not emit aDCB_APP_EVENT when the list os modified. The new dcb_getrewr does alookup based on selector and priority and returns the protocol, so thatmappings from priority to protocol, for a given selector and ifindex isobtained. Also, a new nested attribute has been added, that encapsulates one ormore app structs. This attribute is used to distinguish the two tables. The dcb_lock used for the APP table is reused for the rewrite table.Signed-off-by: Daniel Machon <daniel.machon@microchip.com>Reviewed-by: Petr Machata <petrm@nvidia.com>Signed-off-by: David S.

net: dcb: Add priority-to-DSCP map gettersOn ingress, a network device such as a switch assigns to packetspriority based on various criteria. Common options include interpretingPCP and DSCP fields according to user configuration. When a packetegresses the switch, a reverse process may rewrite PCP and/or DSCPvalues according to packet priority. The following three functions support a) obtaining a DSCP-to-prioritymap or vice versa, and b) finding default-priority entries in APPdatabase. The DCB subsystem supports for APP entries a very generous M:N mappingbetween priorities and protocol identifiers. Understandably, several (say) DSCP values can map to the same priority. But thisasymmetry holds the other way around as well--one priority can map toseveral DSCP values. For this reason, the following functions operate interms of bitmaps, with ones in positions that match some APP entry.- dcb_ieee_getapp_dscp_prio_mask_map() to compute for a given netdevice a map of DSCP-to-priority-mask, which gives for each DSCP value a bitmap of priorities related to that DSCP value by APP, along the lines of dcb_ieee_getapp_mask().- dcb_ieee_getapp_prio_dscp_mask_map() similarly to compute for a given netdevice a map from priorities to a bitmap of DSCPs.- dcb_ieee_getapp_default_prio_mask() which finds all default-priority rules for a given port in APP database, and returns a mask of priorities allowed by these default-priority rules.Signed-off-by: Petr Machata <petrm@mellanox.com>Signed-off-by: Ido Schimmel <idosch@mellanox.com>Signed-off-by: David S.

net/dcb: Add dcbnl buffer attributeIn this patch, we add dcbnl buffer attribute to allow userchange the NIC's buffer configuration such as priorityto buffer mapping and buffer size of individual buffer. This attribute combined with pfc attribute allows advanced user tofine tune the qos setting for specific priority queue. For example, user can give dedicated buffer for one or more priorities or usercan give large buffer to certain priorities. The dcb buffer configuration will be controlled by lldptool.lldptool -T -i eth2 -V BUFFER prio 0,2,5,7,1,2,3,6 maps priorities 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 to receive buffer 0,2,5,7,1,2,3,6lldptool -T -i eth2 -V BUFFER size 87296,87296,0,87296,0,0,0,0 sets receive buffer size for buffer 0,1,2,3,4,5,6,7 respectivelyAfter discussion on mailing list with Jakub, Jiri, Ido and John, we agreed tochoose dcbnl over devlink interface since this feature is intended to setport attributes which are governed by the netdev instance of that port, wheredevlink API is more suitable for global ASIC configurations. We present an use case scenario where dcbnl buffer attribute configuredby advance user helps reduce the latency of messages of different sizes.Scenarios description:On ConnectX-5, we run latency sensitive traffic withsmall/medium message sizes ranging from 64B to 256KB and bandwidth sensitivetraffic with large messages sizes 512KB and 1MB. We group small, medium, and large message sizes to their own pfc enables priorities as follow. Priorities 1 & 2 (64B, 256B and 1KB) Priorities 3 & 4 (4KB, 8KB, 16KB, 64KB, 128KB and 256KB) Priorities 5 & 6 (512KB and 1MB)By default, ConnectX-5 maps all pfc enabled priorities to a singlelossless fixed buffer size of 50% of total available buffer space. Theother 50% is assigned to lossy buffer. Using dcbnl buffer attribute,we create three equal size lossless buffers. Each buffer has 25% of totalavailable buffer space. Thus, the lossy buffer size reduces to 25%. Priorityto lossless buffer mappings are set as follow. Priorities 1 & 2 on lossless buffer #1 Priorities 3 & 4 on lossless buffer #2 Priorities 5 & 6 on lossless buffer #3We observe improvements in latency for small and medium message sizesas follows. Please note that the large message sizes bandwidth performance isreduced but the total bandwidth remains the same. 256B message size (42 % latency reduction) 4K message size (21% latency reduction) 64K message size (16% latency reduction)CC: Ido Schimmel <idosch@idosch.org>CC: Jakub Kicinski <jakub.kicinski@netronome.com>CC: Jiri Pirko <jiri@resnulli.us>CC: Or Gerlitz <gerlitz.or@gmail.com>CC: Parav Pandit <parav@mellanox.com>CC: Aron Silverton <aron.silverton@oracle.com>Signed-off-by: Huy Nguyen <huyn@mellanox.com>Reviewed-by: Parav Pandit <parav@mellanox.com>Signed-off-by: Saeed Mahameed <saeedm@mellanox.com>

dcb: Add ieee_dcb_delapp() and dcb op to delete app entryNow that we allow multiple IEEE App entries we need a wayto remove specific entries. To do this add the ieee_dcb_delapp()routine.Additionaly drivers may need to remove the APP entry fromtheir firmware tables. Add dcb ops routine to handle this.Signed-off-by: John Fastabend <john.r.fastabend@intel.com>Signed-off-by: David S. Miller <davem@davemloft.net>

b6db2174 - dcb: Add ieee_dcb_setapp() to be used for IEEE 802.1Qaz APP data

dcb: Add ieee_dcb_setapp() to be used for IEEE 802.1Qaz APP dataThis adds a setapp routine for IEEE802.1Qaz encoded APP data types. The IEEE 802.1Qaz spec encodes the priority bits differently andallows for multiple APP data entries of the same selector andprotocol. Trying to force these to use the same set routines wasbecoming tedious. Furthermore, userspace could probably enforcethe correct semantics, but expecting drivers to do this seemserror prone in the firmware case. For these reasons add ieee_dcb_setapp() that understands theIEEE 802.1Qaz encoded form.Signed-off-by: John Fastabend <john.r.fastabend@intel.com>Signed-off-by: David S.
314b4778 - net: dcbnl, add multicast group for DCB

net: dcbnl, add multicast group for DCBNow that dcbnl is being used in many cases by morethan a single agent it is beneficial to be notifiedwhen some entity either driver or user space haschanged the DCB attributes.Today applications either end up polling the interfaceor relying on a user space database to maintain the DCBstate and post events. Polling is a poor solution forobvious reasons. And relying on a user space databasehas its own downside. Namely it has created strangeboot dependencies requiring the database be populatedbefore any applications dependent on DCB attributesstarts or the application goes into a polling loop.Populating the database requires negotiating linksetting with the peer and can take anywhere from lessthan a second up to a few seconds depending on the switchimplementation.Perhaps more importantly if another application or anembedded agent sets a DCB link attribute the databasehas no way of knowing other than polling the kernel. This prevents applications from responding quickly tochanges in link events which at least in the FCoE caseand probably any other protocols expecting a losslesslink may result in IO errors.By adding a multicast group for DCB we have clean wayto disseminate kernel DCB link attributes up to userspace. Avoiding the need for user space to maintaina coherant database and disperse events that potentiallydo not reflect the current link state.Signed-off-by: John Fastabend <john.r.fastabend@intel.com>Signed-off-by: David S.
