fs: pass the request_mask to generic_fillattrgeneric_fillattr just fills in the entire stat struct indiscriminatelytoday, copying data from the inode. There is at least one attribute(STATX_CHANGE_COOKIE) that can have side effects when it is reported, and we're looking at adding more with the addition of multigraintimestamps.Add a request_mask argument to generic_fillattr and have most callersjust pass in the value that is passed to getattr. Have other callers(e.g. ksmbd) just pass in STATX_BASIC_STATS. Also move the setting ofSTATX_CHANGE_COOKIE into generic_fillattr.Acked-by: Joseph Qi <joseph.qi@linux.alibaba.com>Reviewed-by: Xiubo Li <xiubli@redhat.com>Reviewed-by: "Paulo Alcantara (SUSE)" <pc@manguebit.com>Reviewed-by: Jan Kara <jack@suse.cz>Signed-off-by: Jeff Layton <jlayton@kernel.org>Message-Id: <20230807-mgctime-v7-2-d1dec143a704@kernel.org>Signed-off-by: Christian Brauner <brauner@kernel.org>

proc: use generic setattr() for /proc/$PID/netAll other files in /proc/$PID/ use proc_setattr().Not using it allows the usage of chmod() on /proc/$PID/net, even onother processes owned by the same user. The same would probably also be true for other attributes to be changed. As this technically represents an ABI change it is not marked forstable so any unlikely regressions are caught during a full release cycle.Fixes: e9720acd728a ("[NET]: Make /proc/net a symlink on /proc/self/net (v3)")Signed-off-by: Thomas Weißschuh <linux@weissschuh.net>Link: https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/d0d111ef-edae-4760-83fb-36db84278da1@t-8ch.de/Fixes: b4844fa0bdb4 ("selftests/nolibc: implement a few tests for various syscalls")Tested-by: Zhangjin Wu <falcon@tinylab.org>Signed-off-by: Willy Tarreau <w@1wt.eu>Message-Id: <20230624-proc-net-setattr-v1-2-73176812adee@weissschuh.net>Signed-off-by: Christian Brauner <brauner@kernel.org>

fs: port ->getattr() to pass mnt_idmapConvert to struct mnt_idmap.Last cycle we merged the necessary infrastructure in256c8aed2b42 ("fs: introduce dedicated idmap type for mounts").This is just the conversion to struct mnt_idmap.Currently we still pass around the plain namespace that was attached to amount. This is in general pretty convenient but it makes it easy toconflate namespaces that are relevant on the filesystem with namespacesthat are relevent on the mount level. Especially for non-vfs developerswithout detailed knowledge in this area this can be a potential source forbugs.Once the conversion to struct mnt_idmap is done all helpers down to thereally low-level helpers will take a struct mnt_idmap argument instead oftwo namespace arguments. This way it becomes impossible to conflate the twoeliminating the possibility of any bugs. All of the vfs and all filesystemsonly operate on struct mnt_idmap.Acked-by: Dave Chinner <dchinner@redhat.com>Reviewed-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de>Signed-off-by: Christian Brauner (Microsoft) <brauner@kernel.org>

fs: make helpers idmap mount awareExtend some inode methods with an additional user namespace argument. Afilesystem that is aware of idmapped mounts will receive the usernamespace the mount has been marked with. This can be used foradditional permission checking and also to enable filesystems totranslate between uids and gids if they need to. We have implemented allrelevant helpers in earlier patches. As requested we simply extend the exisiting inode method instead ofintroducing new ones. This is a little more code churn but it's mostlymechanical and doesnt't leave us with additional inode methods.Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210121131959.646623-25-christian.brauner@ubuntu.comCc: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de>Cc: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com>Cc: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk>Cc: linux-fsdevel@vger.kernel.orgReviewed-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de>Signed-off-by: Christian Brauner <christian.brauner@ubuntu.com>

stat: handle idmapped mountsThe generic_fillattr() helper fills in the basic attributes associatedwith an inode. Enable it to handle idmapped mounts. If the inode isaccessed through an idmapped mount map it into the mount's usernamespace before we store the uid and gid. If the initial user namespaceis passed nothing changes so non-idmapped mounts will see identicalbehavior as before.Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210121131959.646623-12-christian.brauner@ubuntu.comCc: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de>Cc: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com>Cc: Al Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk>Cc: linux-fsdevel@vger.kernel.orgReviewed-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de>Reviewed-by: James Morris <jamorris@linux.microsoft.com>Signed-off-by: Christian Brauner <christian.brauner@ubuntu.com>

proc: decouple proc from VFS with "struct proc_ops"Currently core /proc code uses "struct file_operations" for custom hooks,however, VFS doesn't directly call them. Every time VFS expandsfile_operations hook set, /proc code bloats for no reason.Introduce "struct proc_ops" which contains only those hooks which /procallows to call into (open, release, read, write, ioctl, mmap, poll). Itdoesn't contain module pointer as well.Save ~184 bytes per usage:	add/remove: 26/26 grow/shrink: 1/4 up/down: 1922/-6674 (-4752)	Function old new delta	sysvipc_proc_ops - 72 +72 ...	config_gz_proc_ops - 72 +72	proc_get_inode 289 339 +50	proc_reg_get_unmapped_area 110 107 -3	close_pdeo 227 224 -3	proc_reg_open 289 284 -5	proc_create_data 60 53 -7	rt_cpu_seq_fops 256 - -256 ...	default_affinity_proc_fops 256 - -256	Total: Before=5430095, After=5425343, chg -0.09%Link: http://lkml.kernel.org/r/20191225172228.GA13378@avx2Signed-off-by: Alexey Dobriyan <adobriyan@gmail.com>Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org>Signed-off-by: Linus Torvalds <torvalds@linux-foundation.org>

proc: Add a way to make network proc files writableProvide two extra functions, proc_create_net_data_write() andproc_create_net_single_write() that act like their non-write versions butalso set a write method in the proc_dir_entry struct. An internal simple write function is provided that will copy its buffer andhand it to the pde->write() method if available (or give an error if not). The buffer may be modified by the write method.Signed-off-by: David Howells <dhowells@redhat.com>
