treewide: replace '---help---' in Kconfig files with 'help'Since commit 84af7a6194e4 ("checkpatch: kconfig: prefer 'help' over'---help---'"), the number of '---help---' has been graduallydecreasing, but there are still more than 2400 instances. This commit finishes the conversion. While I touched the lines,I also fixed the indentation. There are a variety of indentation styles found. a) 4 spaces + '---help---' b) 7 spaces + '---help---' c) 8 spaces + '---help---' d) 1 space + 1 tab + '---help---' e) 1 tab + '---help---' (correct indentation) f) 1 tab + 1 space + '---help---' g) 1 tab + 2 spaces + '---help---'In order to convert all of them to 1 tab + 'help', I ran thefollowing commend: $ find . -name 'Kconfig*' | xargs sed -i 's/^[[:space:]]*---help---/\thelp/'Signed-off-by: Masahiro Yamada <masahiroy@kernel.org>

138b15ed - drivers/net: remove all references to obsolete Ethernet-HOWTO

drivers/net: remove all references to obsolete Ethernet-HOWTOThis howto made sense in the 1990s when users had to manually configureISA cards with jumpers or vendor utilities, but with the implementationof PCI it became increasingly less and less relevant, to the point whereit has been well over a decade since I last updated it. And there isno value in anyone else taking over updating it either. However the references to it continue to spread as boiler plate textfrom one Kconfig file into the next. We are not doing end users anyfavours by pointing them at this old document, so lets kill it withfire, once and for all, to hopefully stop any further spread. No code is changed in this commit, just Kconfig help text.Signed-off-by: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com>Signed-off-by: David S.
drivers/net/ethernet/natsemi: remove depends on CONFIG_EXPERIMENTALThe CONFIG_EXPERIMENTAL config item has not carried much meaning for awhile now and is almost always enabled by default. As agreed during theLinux kernel summit, remove it from any "depends on" lines in Kconfigs.CC: Paul Gortmaker <paul.gortmaker@windriver.com>CC: "David S.
drivers/net: delete all code/drivers depending on CONFIG_MCAThe support for CONFIG_MCA is being removed, since the 20year old hardware simply isn't capable of meeting today'ssoftware demands on CPU and memory resources. This commit removes any MCA specific net drivers, and removesany MCA specific probe/support code from drivers that weredoing a dual ISA/MCA role.Cc: "David S.
i825xx:xscale:8390:freescale: Fix Kconfig dependanciesi825xx and xscale are "sub" Kconfigs to NET_VENDOR_INTEL, soNET_VENDOR_INTEL should contain ALL the dependencies of the"sub" Kconfigs.Same with 8390 is a "sub" Kconfig to NET_VENDOR_NATSEMI, soNET_VENDOR_NATSEMI needs to contains ALL the dependencies.Freescale Kconfig only had fs_enet as a sub Kconfig, and alreadycontained the needed dependencies, just cleaned up the dependencies.Reported-by: Geert Uytterhoeven <geert@linux-m68k.org>Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>Signed-off-by: David S.
drivers/net/ethernet/*: Enabled vendor Kconfig optionsBased on finds for Stephen Rothwell, where current defconfig'senable a ethernet driver and it is not compiled due to the newlyadded NET_VENDOR_* component of Kconfig. This patch enables all the "new" Kconfig options so that currentdefconfig's will continue to compile the expected drivers. Inaddition, by enabling all the new Kconfig options does not addany un-expected options.CC: Stephen Rothwll <sfc@canb.auug.org.au>Signed-off-by: Jeff Kirsher <jeffrey.t.kirsher@intel.com>
