treewide: Switch/rename to timer_delete[_sync]()timer_delete[_sync]() replaces del_timer[_sync](). Convert the whole treeover and remove the historical wrapper inlines.Conversion was done with coccinelle plus manual fixups where necessary.Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>Signed-off-by: Ingo Molnar <mingo@kernel.org>

format-security: move static strings to constWhile examining output from trial builds with -Wformat-security enabled, many strings were found that should be defined as "const", or as a chararray instead of char pointer. This makes some static analysis easier,by producing fewer false positives. As these are all trivial changes, it seemed best to put them all in asingle patch rather than chopping them up per maintainer.Link: http://lkml.kernel.org/r/20170405214711.GA5711@beastSigned-off-by: Kees Cook <keescook@chromium.org>Acked-by: Jes Sorensen <jes@trained-monkey.org>	[runner.c]Cc: Tony Lindgren <tony@atomide.com>Cc: Russell King <linux@armlinux.org.uk>Cc: "Maciej W.
drivers: net: ethernet: remove incorrect __exit markupsEven if bus is not hot-pluggable, devices can be unbound from thedriver via sysfs, so we should not be using __exit annotations onremove() methods.
net: deprecate eth_change_mtu, remove usageWith centralized MTU checking, there's nothing productive done byeth_change_mtu that isn't already done in dev_set_mtu, so mark it asdeprecated and remove all usage of it in the kernel. All callers have beenaudited for calls to alloc_etherdev* or ether_setup directly, which meansthey all have a valid dev->min_mtu and dev->max_mtu. Now eth_change_mtuprints out a netdev_warn about being deprecated, for the benefit ofout-of-tree drivers that might be utilizing it.Of note, dvb_net.c actually had dev->mtu = 4096, while usingeth_change_mtu, meaning that if you ever tried changing it's mtu, youcouldn't set it above 1500 anymore. It's now getting dev->max_mtu also setto 4096 to remedy that.v2: fix up lantiq_etop, missed breakage due to drive not compiling on x86CC: netdev@vger.kernel.orgSigned-off-by: Jarod Wilson <jarod@redhat.com>Signed-off-by: David S.

MIPS: DECstation I/O ASIC DMA interrupt classesThis change complements commits d0da7c002f7b2a93582187a9e3f73891a01d8ee4[MIPS: DEC: Convert to new irq_chip functions] and5359b938c088423a28c41499f183cd10824c1816 [MIPS: DECstation I/O ASIC DMAinterrupt handling fix] and implements automatic handling of the twoclasses of DMA interrupts the I/O ASIC implements, informational anderrors.Informational DMA interrupts do not stop the transfer and use the`handle_edge_irq' handler that clears the request right away so thatanother request may be recorded while the previous is being handled.DMA error interrupts stop the transfer and require a corrective actionbefore DMA can be reenabled. Therefore they use the `handle_fasteoi_irq'handler that only clears the request on the way out. Because MIPSprocessor interrupt inputs, one of which the I/O ASIC's interruptcontroller is cascaded to, are level-triggered it is recommended thaterror DMA interrupt action handlers are registered with the IRQF_ONESHOTflag set so that they are run with the interrupt line masked. This change removes the export of clear_ioasic_dma_irq that now does nothave to be called by device drivers to clear interrupts explicitlyanymore. Originally these interrupts were cleared in the .end handler ofthe `irq_chip' structure, before it was removed.Signed-off-by: Maciej W.

MIPS: DECstation I/O ASIC DMA interrupt handling fixThis change complements commit d0da7c002f7b2a93582187a9e3f73891a01d8ee4and brings clear_ioasic_irq back, renaming it to clear_ioasic_dma_irq atthe same time, to make I/O ASIC DMA interrupts functional.Unlike ordinary I/O ASIC interrupts DMA interrupts need to be deassertedby software by writing 0 to the respective bit in I/O ASIC's SystemInterrupt Register (SIR), similarly to how CP0.Cause.IP0 and CP0.Cause.IP1bits are handled in the CPU (the difference is SIR DMA interrupt bits areR/W0C so there's no need for an RMW cycle). Otherwise the handler isreentered over and over again. The only current user is the DEC LANCE Ethernet driver and its extremelyuncommon DMA memory error handler that does not care when exactly theinterrupt is cleared. Anticipating the use of DMA interrupts by the ZilogSCC driver this change however exports clear_ioasic_dma_irq for devicedrivers to choose the right application-specific sequence to clear therequest explicitly rather than calling it implicitly in the .irq_eoihandler of `struct irq_chip'. Previously these interrupts were cleared inthe .end handler of the said structure, before it was removed.Signed-off-by: Maciej W.
