Input: switch back to struct platform_driver::remove()After commit 0edb555a65d1 ("platform: Make platform_driver::remove()return void") .remove() is (again) the right callback to implement forplatform drivers.Convert all platform drivers below drivers/input/ to use .remove(), withthe eventual goal to drop struct platform_driver::remove_new(). As.remove() and .remove_new() have the same prototypes, conversion is doneby just changing the structure member name in the driver initializer. While touching these files, make indention of the struct initializerconsistent in a few drivers.Signed-off-by: Uwe Kleine-König <u.kleine-koenig@baylibre.com>Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20241008090009.462836-2-u.kleine-koenig@baylibre.comSigned-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com>

Input: sun4i-ts - convert to platform remove callback returning voidThe .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makesmany driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling byreturning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apartfrom emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks. To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback returnvoid. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to.remove_new() which already returns void. Eventually after all driversare converted, .remove_new() will be renamed to .remove().Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the removecallback to the void returning variant.Signed-off-by: Uwe Kleine-König <u.kleine-koenig@pengutronix.de>Acked-by: Jernej Skrabec <jernej.skrabec@gmail.com>Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20230920125829.1478827-50-u.kleine-koenig@pengutronix.deSigned-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com>

thermal: consistently use int for temperaturesThe thermal code uses int, long and unsigned long for temperaturesin different places.Using an unsigned type limits the thermal framework to positivetemperatures without need. Also several drivers currently will reporttemperatures near UINT_MAX for temperatures below 0°C. This will probablyimmediately shut the machine down due to overtemperature if started below0°C.'long' is 64bit on several architectures. This is not needed since INT_MAX °mCis above the melting point of all known materials.Consistently use a plain 'int' for temperatures throughout the thermal code andthe drivers. This only changes the places in the drivers where the temperatureis passed around as pointer, when drivers internally use another type this isnot changed.Signed-off-by: Sascha Hauer <s.hauer@pengutronix.de>Acked-by: Geert Uytterhoeven <geert+renesas@glider.be>Reviewed-by: Jean Delvare <jdelvare@suse.de>Reviewed-by: Lukasz Majewski <l.majewski@samsung.com>Reviewed-by: Darren Hart <dvhart@linux.intel.com>Reviewed-by: Heiko Stuebner <heiko@sntech.de>Reviewed-by: Peter Feuerer <peter@piie.net>Cc: Punit Agrawal <punit.agrawal@arm.com>Cc: Zhang Rui <rui.zhang@intel.com>Cc: Eduardo Valentin <edubezval@gmail.com>Cc: linux-pm@vger.kernel.orgCc: linux-kernel@vger.kernel.orgCc: Jean Delvare <jdelvare@suse.de>Cc: Peter Feuerer <peter@piie.net>Cc: Heiko Stuebner <heiko@sntech.de>Cc: Lukasz Majewski <l.majewski@samsung.com>Cc: Stephen Warren <swarren@wwwdotorg.org>Cc: Thierry Reding <thierry.reding@gmail.com>Cc: linux-acpi@vger.kernel.orgCc: platform-driver-x86@vger.kernel.orgCc: linux-arm-kernel@lists.infradead.orgCc: linux-omap@vger.kernel.orgCc: linux-samsung-soc@vger.kernel.orgCc: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>Cc: Rafael J.
Input: sun4i-ts - A10 (sun4i) has a different temperature curveTesting has revealed that the temperature in the rtp controller of the A10(sun4i) SoC has a different curve then on the A13 (sun5i) and later models.Add a new sun5i-a13-ts compatible to differentiate the newer models andset the curve based on the compatible string. The new curve is still not ideal on all A10-s, that seems to have todo with there being a large spread between different A10-s out there, the new curve us based on callibration results on 4 completely differentmodels: raw min raw max temp min temp max stepsize offsetTong Zhang's hackberry 2402 2680 45.0 80.0 0.125 -255.3Hansg's Cubieboard 2207 2300 36.0 45.0 0.096 -175.8Olliver's lime 1 (*): 2258 2537 48.3 87.1 0.139 -265.7Olliver's lime 2 (*): 2222 2486 46.7 91.7 0.170 -331.0*) from: http://linux-sunxi.org/Temperature_CalibrationAverage all 4: 0.133 -257.0Average without outliers (middle 2): 0.132 -261.0Since it is better to slightly overreport the temperature this patch usesthe average of all 4 as curve. This fixes the temperature reported on the A10 being much higher thenexpected.Reported-by: Tong Zhang <lovewilliam@gmail.com>Signed-off-by: Hans de Goede <hdegoede@redhat.com>Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com>

Input: sun4i-ts - add thermal zone sensor supportThe touchscreen controller has a temperature sensor embedded in the SoC,which already has hwmon support in the driver.Add DT thermal zone support so we can use it with cpufreq for thermalthrottling. This also adds a comment stating that we do not know the actual formulafor calculating the temperature.Signed-off-by: Chen-Yu Tsai <wens@csie.org>Acked-by: Eduardo Valentin <edubezval@gmail.com>Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com>

Input: sun4i-ts - add support for temperature sensorThe sun4i resisitive touchscreen controller also comes with a built-intemperature sensor. This commit adds support for it.This commit also introduces a new "ts-attached" device-tree property, when this is not set, the input part of the driver won't register. This waythe internal temperature sensor can be used to measure the SoC temperatureindependent of there actually being a touchscreen attached to the controller.Signed-off-by: Hans de Goede <hdegoede@redhat.com>Reviewed-by: Guenter Roeck <linux@roeck-us.net>Acked-by: Maxime Ripard <maxime.ripard@free-electrons.com>Signed-off-by: Dmitry Torokhov <dmitry.torokhov@gmail.com>
