drm/sun4i: Run DRM default client setupCall drm_client_setup() to run the kernel's default client setupfor DRM. Set fbdev_probe in struct drm_driver, so that the clientsetup can start the common fbdev client. The sun4i driver specifies as preferred color mode of 32. As thisis the default if no format has been given, leave it out entirely.v5:- select DRM_CLIENT_SELECTIONSigned-off-by: Thomas Zimmermann <tzimmermann@suse.de>Cc: Maxime Ripard <mripard@kernel.org>Cc: Chen-Yu Tsai <wens@csie.org>Cc: Jernej Skrabec <jernej.skrabec@gmail.com>Cc: Samuel Holland <samuel@sholland.org>Acked-by: Javier Martinez Canillas <javierm@redhat.com>Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20240924071734.98201-41-tzimmermann@suse.de

Revert "drm: Make drivers depends on DRM_DW_HDMI"This reverts commit c0e0f139354c01e0213204e4a96e7076e5a3e396, as helpercode should always be selected by the driver that needs it, for theconvenience of the final user configuring a kernel. The user who configures a kernel should not need to know which helpersare needed for the driver he is interested in. Making a driver dependon helper code means that the user needs to know which helpers to enablefirst, which is very user-unfriendly.Signed-off-by: Geert Uytterhoeven <geert+renesas@glider.be>Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/bd93d43b07f8ed6368119f4a5ddac2ee80debe53.1713780345.git.geert+renesas@glider.beSigned-off-by: Maxime Ripard <mripard@kernel.org>

drm/gem: rename GEM CMA helpers to GEM DMA helpersRename "GEM CMA" helpers to "GEM DMA" helpers - considering thehierarchy of APIs (mm/cma -> dma -> gem dma) calling them "GEMDMA" seems to be more applicable.Besides that, commit e57924d4ae80 ("drm/doc: Task to rename CMA helpers")requests to rename the CMA helpers and implies that people seem to beconfused about the naming. In order to do this renaming the following script was used:```	#!/bin/bash	DIRS="drivers/gpu include/drm Documentation/gpu"	REGEX_SYM_UPPER="[0-9A-Z_\-]"	REGEX_SYM_LOWER="[0-9a-z_\-]"	REGEX_GREP_UPPER="(${REGEX_SYM_UPPER}*)(GEM)_CMA_(${REGEX_SYM_UPPER}*)"	REGEX_GREP_LOWER="(${REGEX_SYM_LOWER}*)(gem)_cma_(${REGEX_SYM_LOWER}*)"	REGEX_SED_UPPER="s/${REGEX_GREP_UPPER}/\1\2_DMA_\3/g"	REGEX_SED_LOWER="s/${REGEX_GREP_LOWER}/\1\2_dma_\3/g"	# Find all upper case 'CMA' symbols and replace them with 'DMA'.	for ff in $(grep -REHl "${REGEX_GREP_UPPER}" $DIRS)	do sed -i -E "$REGEX_SED_UPPER" $ff	done	# Find all lower case 'cma' symbols and replace them with 'dma'.	for ff in $(grep -REHl "${REGEX_GREP_LOWER}" $DIRS)	do sed -i -E "$REGEX_SED_LOWER" $ff	done	# Replace all occurrences of 'CMA' / 'cma' in comments and	# documentation files with 'DMA' / 'dma'.	for ff in $(grep -RiHl " cma " $DIRS)	do sed -i -E "s/ cma / dma /g" $ff sed -i -E "s/ CMA / DMA /g" $ff	done	# Rename all 'cma_obj's to 'dma_obj'.	for ff in $(grep -RiHl "cma_obj" $DIRS)	do sed -i -E "s/cma_obj/dma_obj/g" $ff	done```Only a few more manual modifications were needed, e.g. reverting thefollowing modifications in some DRM Kconfig files - select CMA if HAVE_DMA_CONTIGUOUS + select DMA if HAVE_DMA_CONTIGUOUSas well as manually picking the occurrences of 'CMA'/'cma' in comments anddocumentation which relate to "GEM CMA", but not "FB CMA".Also drivers/gpu/drm/Makefile was fixed up manually after renamingdrm_gem_cma_helper.c to drm_gem_dma_helper.c.This patch is compile-time tested building a x86_64 kernel with`make allyesconfig && make drivers/gpu/drm`.Acked-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org>Acked-by: Thomas Zimmermann <tzimmermann@suse.de>Reviewed-by: Laurent Pinchart <laurent.pinchart@ideasonboard.com>Signed-off-by: Danilo Krummrich <dakr@redhat.com>Reviewed-by: Liviu Dudau <liviu.dudau@arm.com> #drivers/gpu/drm/armSigned-off-by: Sam Ravnborg <sam@ravnborg.org>Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20220802000405.949236-4-dakr@redhat.com

drm/sun4i: Update Kconfig defaults and descriptionsAllwinner display drivers are split roughly into two generations. Thefirst generation was found on early 32-bit ARM SoCs and contains DE1.0and a custom HDMI controller. Clarify that these options only apply toa specific list of SoCs, and limit selecting them to 32-bit ARM, toavoid confusion. The second generation, found in A83T and newer SoCs (both 32-bit and64-bit), contains a DE2.0 and a DesignWare HDMI controller. Since thisis the most widely-used generation, enable it by default. The previousdefault condition (MACH_SUN8I) was limited to 32-bit SoCs. Also enablethe DSI controller by default, which is found on 64-bit SoCs as well.Signed-off-by: Samuel Holland <samuel@sholland.org>Signed-off-by: Maxime Ripard <maxime@cerno.tech>Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/20220702193250.52959-1-samuel@sholland.org

However, there's stillsome dark areas that are a bit unclear about how the block exactlyoperates.Reviewed-by: Chen-Yu Tsai <wens@csie.org>Signed-off-by: Maxime Ripard <maxime.ripard@bootlin.com>Link: https://patchwork.freedesktop.org/patch/msgid/ad9e6224fced87c0889ddd2765d1942610061f72.1522835818.git-series.maxime.ripard@bootlin.com

sun4i_hdmi: add CEC supportAdd HDMI CEC support to the Allwinner A10 SoC.This SoC uses a poor-man's CEC implementation by polling the CEC pin. It isusing the CEC_PIN core implementation for such devices to do the heavylifting. It just provides the callbacks to read/drive the CEC pin.Signed-off-by: Hans Verkuil <hans.verkuil@cisco.com>Tested-by: Maxime Ripard <maxime.ripard@free-electrons.com>Signed-off-by: Maxime Ripard <maxime.ripard@free-electrons.com>
