cea8896b - RISC-V: KVM: Fix kvm_riscv_vcpu_timer_pending() for Sstc

RISC-V: KVM: Fix kvm_riscv_vcpu_timer_pending() for SstcThe kvm_riscv_vcpu_timer_pending() checks per-VCPU next_cyclesand per-VCPU software injected VS timer interrupt. This functionreturns incorrect value when Sstc is available because the per-VCPUnext_cycles are only updated by kvm_riscv_vcpu_timer_save() calledfrom kvm_arch_vcpu_put(). As a result, when Sstc is available theVCPU does not block properly upon WFI traps.To fix the above issue, we introduce kvm_riscv_vcpu_timer_sync()which will update per-VCPU next_cycles upon every VM exit insteadof kvm_riscv_vcpu_timer_save().Fixes: 8f5cb44b1bae ("RISC-V: KVM: Support sstc extension")Signed-off-by: Anup Patel <apatel@ventanamicro.com>Reviewed-by: Atish Patra <atishp@rivosinc.com>Signed-off-by: Anup Patel <anup@brainfault.org>

RISC-V: KVM: Support sstc extensionSstc extension allows the guest to program the vstimecmp CSR directlyinstead of making an SBI call to the hypervisor to program the nextevent. The timer interrupt is also directly injected to the guest bythe hardware in this case. To maintain backward compatibility, thehypervisors also update the vstimecmp in an SBI set_time call ifthe hardware supports it. Thus, the older kernels in guest alsotake advantage of the sstc extension.Reviewed-by: Anup Patel <anup@brainfault.org>Signed-off-by: Atish Patra <atishp@rivosinc.com>Acked-by: Anup Patel <anup@brainfault.org>Link: https://lore.kernel.org/all/CAAhSdy2mb6wyqy0NAn9BcTWKMYEc0Z4zU3s3j7oNqBz6eDQ9sg@mail.gmail.com/Signed-off-by: Palmer Dabbelt <palmer@rivosinc.com>

RISC-V: KVM: Make kvm_riscv_guest_timer_init a void functionIt can never fail so convey that fact explicitly by making the functionvoid. Also in kvm_arch_init_vm it makes it clear that there no needto do any cleanup after kvm_riscv_gstage_vmid_init has been called.Signed-off-by: Nikolay Borisov <nborisov@suse.com>Signed-off-by: Anup Patel <anup@brainfault.org>

RISC-V: KVM: Add timer functionalityThe RISC-V hypervisor specification doesn't have any virtual timerfeature.Due to this, the guest VCPU timer will be programmed via SBI calls.The host will use a separate hrtimer event for each guest VCPU toprovide timer functionality. We inject a virtual timer interrupt tothe guest VCPU whenever the guest VCPU hrtimer event expires.This patch adds guest VCPU timer implementation along with ONE_REGinterface to access VCPU timer state from user space.Signed-off-by: Atish Patra <atish.patra@wdc.com>Signed-off-by: Anup Patel <anup.patel@wdc.com>Acked-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>Reviewed-by: Paolo Bonzini <pbonzini@redhat.com>Acked-by: Daniel Lezcano <daniel.lezcano@linaro.org>Acked-by: Palmer Dabbelt <palmerdabbelt@google.com>
