b2473a35 - of/fdt: add dt_phys arg to early_init_dt_scan and early_init_dt_verify

of/fdt: add dt_phys arg to early_init_dt_scan and early_init_dt_verify __pa() is only intended to be used for linear map addresses and usingit for initial_boot_params which is in fixmap for arm64 will give anincorrect value. Hence save the physical address when it is known atboot time when calling early_init_dt_scan for arm64 and use it at kexectime instead of converting the virtual address using __pa().Note that arm64 doesn't need the FDT region reserved in the DT as thekernel explicitly reserves the passed in FDT. Therefore, only a debugwarning is fixed with this change.Reported-by: Breno Leitao <leitao@debian.org>Suggested-by: Mark Rutland <mark.rutland@arm.com>Signed-off-by: Usama Arif <usamaarif642@gmail.com>Fixes: ac10be5cdbfa ("arm64: Use common of_kexec_alloc_and_setup_fdt()")Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20241023171426.452688-1-usamaarif642@gmail.comSigned-off-by: Rob Herring (Arm) <robh@kernel.org>

MIPS: relocatable: fix possible boot hangup with KASLR enabledLLVM-built Linux triggered a boot hangup with KASLR enabled.arch/mips/kernel/relocate.c:get_random_boot() uses linux_banner,which is a string constant, as a random seed, but accesses itas an array of unsigned long (in rotate_xor()).When the address of linux_banner is not aligned to sizeof(long),such access emits unaligned access exception and hangs the kernel.Use PTR_ALIGN() to align input address to sizeof(long) and alsoalign down the input length to prevent possible access-beyond-end.Fixes: 405bc8fd12f5 ("MIPS: Kernel: Implement KASLR using CONFIG_RELOCATABLE")Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org # 4.7+Signed-off-by: Alexander Lobakin <alobakin@pm.me>Tested-by: Nathan Chancellor <natechancellor@gmail.com>Reviewed-by: Kees Cook <keescook@chromium.org>Signed-off-by: Thomas Bogendoerfer <tsbogend@alpha.franken.de>

MIPS: KASLR: Avoid endless loop in sync_icache if synci_step is zeroMost platforms do not need to do synci instruction operations whensynci_step is 0. But for example, the synci implementation on Loongson64platform has some changes. On the one hand, it ensures that the memoryaccess instructions have been completed. On the other hand, it guaranteesthat all prefetch instructions need to be fetched again. And its addressinformation is useless. Thus, only one synci operation is required whensynci_step is 0 on Loongson64 platform. I guess that some other platformshave similar implementations on synci, so add judgment conditions in`while` to ensure that at least all platforms perform synci operationsonce. For those platforms that do not need synci, they just do one moreoperation similar to nop.Signed-off-by: Jinyang He <hejinyang@loongson.cn>Signed-off-by: Thomas Bogendoerfer <tsbogend@alpha.franken.de>

MIPS: relocate: Optionally relocate the DTBIf the DTB is located in the target memory area for the relocated kernelit needs to be relocated as well before kernel relocation takes place. After copying the DTB use the new plat_fdt_relocated() API from therelocated kernel to ensure the relocated kernel updates any informationthat it may have cached about the location of the DTB.plat_fdt_relocated is declared as a weak symbol so that platforms thatdo not require it do not need to implement the method.Signed-off-by: Marcin Nowakowski <marcin.nowakowski@imgtec.com>Cc: linux-mips@linux-mips.orgPatchwork: https://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/14616/Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>

MIPS: Relocatable: Provide plat_post_relocation hookThis hook provides the platform the chance to perform any requiredsetup before the boot processor switches to the relocated kernel. The relocated kernel has been copied and fixed up ready for executionat this point. Secondary CPUs may wish to switch to it early. Thereis also the opportunity for the platform to abort jumping to therelocated kernel if there is anything wrong with the chosen offset.Signed-off-by: Matt Redfearn <matt.redfearn@imgtec.com>Signed-off-by: Steven J.
MIPS: KASLR: Fix handling of NULL FDTIf platform code returns a NULL pointer to the FDT, initial_boot_paramswill not get set to a valid pointer and attempting to find the /chosennode in it will cause a NULL pointer dereference and the kernel to crashimmediately on startup - with no output to the console.Fix this by checking that initial_boot_params is valid before using it.Fixes: 405bc8fd12f5 ("MIPS: Kernel: Implement KASLR using CONFIG_RELOCATABLE")Cc: stable@vger.kernel.org # 4.7+Signed-off-by: Matt Redfearn <matt.redfearn@imgtec.com>Cc: linux-mips@linux-mips.orgCc: linux-kernel@vger.kernel.orgPatchwork: https://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/14414/Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>

MIPS: Kernel: Implement KASLR using CONFIG_RELOCATABLEThis patch adds KASLR to the MIPS kernel.Entropy is derived from the banner, which will change every build andrandom_get_entropy() which should provide additional runtime entropy.Additionally the bootloader may pass entropy via the /chosen/kaslr-seednode in device tree. The kernel is relocated by up to RANDOMIZE_BASE_MAX_OFFSET bytes fromits link address (PHYSICAL_START). Because relocation happens so earlyin the kernel boot, the amount of physical memory has not yet beendetermined. This means the only way to limit relocation within theavailable memory is via Kconfig.Signed-off-by: Matt Redfearn <matt.redfearn@imgtec.com>Cc: linux-mips@linux-mips.orgCc: kernel-hardening@lists.openwall.comCc: linux-kernel@vger.kernel.orgPatchwork: https://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/12990/Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>

MIPS: Kernel: Add relocate.carch/mips/kernel/relocate.c contains the functions necessary to relocatethe kernel elsewhere in memoryThe kernel makes a copy of itself at the new address. It uses therelocation table inserted by the relocs tool to fix symbol referenceswithin the new image. If copy/relocation is sucessful then the entry point of the new kernelis returned, otherwise fall back to starting the kernel in place.Signed-off-by: Matt Redfearn <matt.redfearn@imgtec.com>Cc: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>Cc: James Hogan <james.hogan@imgtec.com>Cc: Paul Burton <paul.burton@imgtec.com>Cc: linux-mips@linux-mips.orgCc: kernel-hardening@lists.openwall.comCc: linux-kernel@vger.kernel.orgPatchwork: https://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/12985/Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
