MIPS: Convert update_persistent_clock() to update_persistent_clock64()Since struct timespec is not y2038 safe on 32bit machines, this patchconverts update_persistent_clock() to update_persistent_clock64() usingstruct timespec64.The rtc_mips_set_time() and rtc_mips_set_mmss() interfaces were using'unsigned long' type that is not y2038 safe on 32bit machines, moreoverthere is only one platform implementing rtc_mips_set_time() and twoplatforms implementing rtc_mips_set_mmss(), so we can just make them eachimplement update_persistent_clock64() directly, to get that helper outof the common mips code by removing rtc_mips_set_time() andrtc_mips_set_mmss() interfaces.Signed-off-by: Baolin Wang <baolin.wang@linaro.org>Acked-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>Cc: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>Cc: Huacai Chen <chenhc@lemote.com>Cc: Paul Burton <paul.burton@mips.com>Cc: linux-mips@linux-mips.orgSigned-off-by: James Hogan <jhogan@kernel.org>

ec0b9d35 - MIPS: Remove "weak" from get_c0_compare_int() declaration

MIPS: Remove "weak" from get_c0_compare_int() declarationWeak header file declarations are error-prone because they make everydefinition weak, and the linker chooses one based on link order (see10629d711ed7 ("PCI: Remove __weak annotation from pcibios_get_phb_of_nodedecl")).get_c0_compare_int() is defined in several files. Each definition is weak,so I assume Kconfig prevents two or more from being included. The callercontains default code used when get_c0_compare_int() isn't defined at all.Add a weak get_c0_compare_int() definition with the default code and removethe weak annotation from the declaration. Then the platform implementations will be strong and will override the weakdefault. If multiple platforms are ever configured in, we'll get a linkerror instead of calling a random platform's implementation.Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>Reviewed-by: James Hogan <james.hogan@imgtec.com>Cc: Andrew Bresticker <abrestic@chromium.org>Cc: linux-mips@linux-mips.orgCc: linux-kernel@vger.kernel.orgPatchwork: https://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/10686/Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>

MIPS: Add hook to get C0 performance counter interruptThe hardware perf event driver and oprofile interpret the globalcp0_perfcount_irq differently: in the hardware perf event driverit is an offset from MIPS_CPU_IRQ_BASE and in oprofile it is theactual IRQ number. This still works most of the time sinceMIPS_CPU_IRQ_BASE is usually 0, but is clearly wrong. Since theperformance counter interrupt may vary from platform to platformlike the C0 timer interrupt, add the optional get_c0_perfcount_inthook which returns the IRQ number of the performance counter. The hook should return < 0 if the performance counter interrupt isshared with the timer. If the hook is not present, the CPU vectorreported in C0_IntCtl (cp0_perfcount_irq) is used.Signed-off-by: Andrew Bresticker <abrestic@chromium.org>Reviewed-by: Qais Yousef <qais.yousef@imgtec.com>Tested-by: Qais Yousef <qais.yousef@imgtec.com>Cc: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>Cc: Jason Cooper <jason@lakedaemon.net>Cc: Andrew Bresticker <abrestic@chromium.org>Cc: Jeffrey Deans <jeffrey.deans@imgtec.com>Cc: Markos Chandras <markos.chandras@imgtec.com>Cc: Paul Burton <paul.burton@imgtec.com>Cc: Qais Yousef <qais.yousef@imgtec.com>Cc: Jonas Gorski <jogo@openwrt.org>Cc: John Crispin <blogic@openwrt.org>Cc: David Daney <ddaney.cavm@gmail.com>Cc: linux-mips@linux-mips.orgCc: linux-kernel@vger.kernel.orgPatchwork: https://patchwork.linux-mips.org/patch/7805/Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>

MIPS: make cp0 counter clocksource/event usable as fallback. The current mips clock build infrastructure lets a system only useeither the MIPS cp0 counter or a SoC specific timer as a clocksource /clockevent device. This patch renames the core cp0 counter clocksource / clockevent functionsfrom mips_* to r4k_* and updates the wrappers in asm-mips/time.h tocall these renamed functions instead.Chips which can detect whether it is safe to use a chip-specific timercan now fall back on the cp0 counter if necessary and possible(e.g. Alchemy with a follow-on patch).Existing behaviour is not changed in any way.Signed-off-by: Manuel Lauss <mano@roarinelk.homelinux.net>Signed-off-by: Ralf Baechle <ralf@linux-mips.org>
