arm64: vdso: Switch to generic storage implementationThe generic storage implementation provides the same features as thecustom one. However it can be shared between architectures, makingmaintenance easier.This switch also moves the random state data out of the time data page.The currently used hardcoded __VDSO_RND_DATA_OFFSET does not take intoaccount changes to the time data page layout.Co-developed-by: Nam Cao <namcao@linutronix.de>Signed-off-by: Nam Cao <namcao@linutronix.de>Signed-off-by: Thomas Weißschuh <thomas.weissschuh@linutronix.de>Signed-off-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>Link: https://lore.kernel.org/all/20250204-vdso-store-rng-v3-8-13a4669dfc8c@linutronix.de

arm64: vDSO: Wire up getrandom() vDSO implementationHook up the generic vDSO implementation to the aarch64 vDSO data page.The _vdso_rng_data required data is placed within the _vdso_data vvarpage, by using a offset larger than the vdso_data.The vDSO function requires a ChaCha20 implementation that does not writeto the stack, and that can do an entire ChaCha20 permutation. The oneprovided uses NEON on the permute operation, with a fallback to thesyscall for chips that do not support AdvSIMD.This also passes the vdso_test_chacha test along withvdso_test_getrandom. The vdso_test_getrandom bench-single result onNeoverse-N1 shows: vdso: 25000000 times in 0.783884250 seconds libc: 25000000 times in 8.780275399 secondssyscall: 25000000 times in 8.786581518 secondsA small fixup to arch/arm64/include/asm/mman.h was required to avoidpulling kernel code into the vDSO, similar to what's already done inarch/arm64/include/asm/rwonce.h.Signed-off-by: Adhemerval Zanella <adhemerval.zanella@linaro.org>Reviewed-by: Ard Biesheuvel <ardb@kernel.org>Acked-by: Will Deacon <will@kernel.org>Signed-off-by: Jason A.
bbbb6577 - arm64: Avoid cpus_have_const_cap() for ARM64_HAS_BTI

arm64: Avoid cpus_have_const_cap() for ARM64_HAS_BTIIn system_supports_bti() we use cpus_have_const_cap() to check forARM64_HAS_BTI, but this is not necessary and alternative_has_cap_*() orcpus_have_final_*cap() would be preferable.For historical reasons, cpus_have_const_cap() is more complicated thanit needs to be. Before cpucaps are finalized, it will perform a bitmaptest of the system_cpucaps bitmap, and once cpucaps are finalized itwill use an alternative branch. This used to be necessary to handle somerace conditions in the window between cpucap detection and thesubsequent patching of alternatives and static branches, where differentbranches could be out-of-sync with one another (or w.r.t. alternativesequences). Now that we use alternative branches instead of staticbranches, these are all patched atomically w.r.t. one another, and thereare only a handful of cases that need special care in the window betweencpucap detection and alternative patching.Due to the above, it would be nice to remove cpus_have_const_cap(), andmigrate callers over to alternative_has_cap_*(), cpus_have_final_cap(),or cpus_have_cap() depending on when their requirements. This willremove redundant instructions and improve code generation, and will makeit easier to determine how each callsite will behave before, during, andafter alternative patching.When CONFIG_ARM64_BTI_KERNEL=y, the ARM64_HAS_BTI cpucap is a strictboot cpu feature which is detected and patched early on the boot cpu.All uses guarded by CONFIG_ARM64_BTI_KERNEL happen after the boot CPUhas detected ARM64_HAS_BTI and patched boot alternatives, and hence cansafely use alternative_has_cap_*() or cpus_have_final_boot_cap().Regardless of CONFIG_ARM64_BTI_KERNEL, all other uses of ARM64_HAS_BTIhappen after system capabilities have been finalized and alternativeshave been patched. Hence these can safely use alternative_has_cap_*) orcpus_have_final_cap().This patch splits system_supports_bti() into system_supports_bti() andsystem_supports_bti_kernel(), with the former handling where the cpucapaffects userspace functionality, and ther latter handling where thecpucap affects kernel functionality. The use of cpus_have_const_cap() isreplaced by cpus_have_final_cap() in cpus_have_const_cap, andcpus_have_final_boot_cap() in system_supports_bti_kernel(). This willavoid generating code to test the system_cpucaps bitmap and should bebetter for all subsequent calls at runtime. The use ofcpus_have_final_cap() and cpus_have_final_boot_cap() will make it easierto spot if code is chaanged such that these run before the ARM64_HAS_BTIcpucap is guaranteed to have been finalized.Signed-off-by: Mark Rutland <mark.rutland@arm.com>Reviewed-by: Mark Brown <broonie@kernel.org>Cc: Ard Biesheuvel <ardb@kernel.org>Cc: Suzuki K Poulose <suzuki.poulose@arm.com>Cc: Will Deacon <will@kernel.org>Signed-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>

arm64: vdso: Pass (void *) to virt_to_page()Like the other calls in this function virt_to_page() expectsa pointer, not an integer.However since many architectures implement virt_to_pfn() asa macro, this function becomes polymorphic and accepts both a(unsigned long) and a (void *).Fix this up with an explicit cast.Signed-off-by: Linus Walleij <linus.walleij@linaro.org>Link: http://lists.infradead.org/pipermail/linux-arm-kernel/2023-May/832583.htmlSigned-off-by: Will Deacon <will@kernel.org>

e9adcfec - mm: remove zap_page_range and create zap_vma_pages

mm: remove zap_page_range and create zap_vma_pageszap_page_range was originally designed to unmap pages within an addressrange that could span multiple vmas. While working on [1], it wasdiscovered that all callers of zap_page_range pass a range entirely withina single vma. In addition, the mmu notification call within zap_pagerange does not correctly handle ranges that span multiple vmas. Whencrossing a vma boundary, a new mmu_notifier_range_init/end call pair withthe new vma should be made.Instead of fixing zap_page_range, do the following:- Create a new routine zap_vma_pages() that will remove all pages within the passed vma. Most users of zap_page_range pass the entire vma and can use this new routine.- For callers of zap_page_range not passing the entire vma, instead call zap_page_range_single().- Remove zap_page_range.[1] https://lore.kernel.org/linux-mm/20221114235507.294320-2-mike.kravetz@oracle.com/Link: https://lkml.kernel.org/r/20230104002732.232573-1-mike.kravetz@oracle.comSigned-off-by: Mike Kravetz <mike.kravetz@oracle.com>Suggested-by: Peter Xu <peterx@redhat.com>Acked-by: Michal Hocko <mhocko@suse.com>Acked-by: Peter Xu <peterx@redhat.com>Acked-by: Heiko Carstens <hca@linux.ibm.com>	[s390]Reviewed-by: Christoph Hellwig <hch@lst.de>Cc: Christian Borntraeger <borntraeger@linux.ibm.com>Cc: Christian Brauner <brauner@kernel.org>Cc: Dave Hansen <dave.hansen@linux.intel.com>Cc: David Hildenbrand <david@redhat.com>Cc: Eric Dumazet <edumazet@google.com>Cc: Matthew Wilcox <willy@infradead.org>Cc: Michael Ellerman <mpe@ellerman.id.au>Cc: Nadav Amit <nadav.amit@gmail.com>Cc: Palmer Dabbelt <palmer@dabbelt.com>Cc: Rik van Riel <riel@surriel.com>Cc: Vlastimil Babka <vbabka@suse.cz>Cc: Will Deacon <will@kernel.org>Signed-off-by: Andrew Morton <akpm@linux-foundation.org>

arm64: compat: Poison the compat sigpageCommit 9c698bff66ab ("ARM: ensure the signal page contains defined contents")poisoned the unused portions of the signal page for 32-bit Arm.Implement the same poisoning for the compat signal page on arm64 ratherthan using __GFP_ZERO.Signed-off-by: Will Deacon <will@kernel.org>Reviewed-by: Vincenzo Frascino <vincenzo.frascino@arm.com>Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20210318170738.7756-6-will@kernel.orgSigned-off-by: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>

arm64: vdso: Remove redundant calls to flush_dcache_page()flush_dcache_page() ensures that the 'PG_dcache_clean' flag for its'page' argument is clear so that cache maintenance will be performedif the page is mapped into userspace with execute permissions.Newly allocated pages have this flag clear, so there is no need to callflush_dcache_page() for the compat vdso or signal pages.

mm: forbid splitting special mappingsDon't allow splitting of vm_special_mapping's. It affects vdso/vvarareas. Uprobes have only one page in xol_area so they aren't affected.Those restrictions were enforced by checks in .mremap() callbacks.Restrict resizing with generic .split() callback.Link: https://lkml.kernel.org/r/20201013013416.390574-7-dima@arista.comSigned-off-by: Dmitry Safonov <dima@arista.com>Cc: Alexander Viro <viro@zeniv.linux.org.uk>Cc: Andy Lutomirski <luto@kernel.org>Cc: Brian Geffon <bgeffon@google.com>Cc: Catalin Marinas <catalin.marinas@arm.com>Cc: Dan Carpenter <dan.carpenter@oracle.com>Cc: Dan Williams <dan.j.williams@intel.com>Cc: Dave Jiang <dave.jiang@intel.com>Cc: Hugh Dickins <hughd@google.com>Cc: Ingo Molnar <mingo@redhat.com>Cc: Jason Gunthorpe <jgg@ziepe.ca>Cc: John Hubbard <jhubbard@nvidia.com>Cc: "Kirill A.
