dda5f312 - locking/atomic: arm: fix sync ops

locking/atomic: arm: fix sync opsThe sync_*() ops on arch/arm are defined in terms of the regular bitopswith no special handling. This is not correct, as UP kernels elidebarriers for the fully-ordered operations, and so the required orderingis lost when such UP kernels are run under a hypervsior on an SMPsystem.Fix this by defining sync ops with the required barriers.Note: On 32-bit arm, the sync_*() ops are currently only used by Xen,which requires ARMv7, but the semantics can be implemented for ARMv6+.Fixes: e54d2f61528165bb ("xen/arm: sync_bitops")Signed-off-by: Mark Rutland <mark.rutland@arm.com>Signed-off-by: Peter Zijlstra (Intel) <peterz@infradead.org>Reviewed-by: Kees Cook <keescook@chromium.org>Link: https://lore.kernel.org/r/20230605070124.3741859-2-mark.rutland@arm.com

c36ef4b1 - ARM: 7171/1: unwind: add unwind directives to bitops assembly macros

ARM: 7171/1: unwind: add unwind directives to bitops assembly macrosThe bitops functions (e.g. _test_and_set_bit) on ARM do not have unwindannotations and therefore the kernel cannot backtrace out of them on afatal error (for example, NULL pointer dereference). This patch annotates the bitops assembly macros with UNWIND annotationsso that we can produce a meaningful backtrace on error. Callers of themacros are modified to pass their function name as a macro parameter, enforcing that the macros are used as standalone function implementations.Acked-by: Dave Martin <dave.martin@linaro.org>Signed-off-by: Will Deacon <will.deacon@arm.com>Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

Linux-2.6.12-rc2Initial git repository build. I'm not bothering with the full history, even though we have it. We can create a separate "historical" gitarchive of that later if we want to, and in the meantime it's about3.2GB when imported into git - space that would just make the earlygit days unnecessarily complicated, when we don't have a lot of goodinfrastructure for it.Let it rip!
