PCI: Remove PCI_REASSIGN_ALL_RSRC use on arm and arm64On arm, PCI_REASSIGN_ALL_RSRC is used only in pcibios_assign_all_busses(),which helps decide whether to reconfigure bridge bus numbers. It hasnothing to do with BAR assignments. On arm64 and powerpc,pcibios_assign_all_busses() tests PCI_REASSIGN_ALL_BUS, which makes moresense.Align arm with arm64 and powerpc, so they all use PCI_REASSIGN_ALL_BUS forpcibios_assign_all_busses().Remove PCI_REASSIGN_ALL_RSRC from the generic, Tegra, Versatile, andR-Car drivers. These drivers are used only on arm or arm64, wherePCI_REASSIGN_ALL_RSRC is not used after this change, so removing itshould have no effect.No functional change intended.Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>Reviewed-by: Manikanta Maddireddy <mmaddireddy@nvidia.com>Reviewed-by: Lorenzo Pieralisi <lorenzo.pieralisi@arm.com>

b2441318 - License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no license

License cleanup: add SPDX GPL-2.0 license identifier to files with no licenseMany source files in the tree are missing licensing information, whichmakes it harder for compliance tools to determine the correct license.By default all files without license information are under the defaultlicense of the kernel, which is GPL version 2.Update the files which contain no license information with the 'GPL-2.0'SPDX license identifier. The SPDX identifier is a legally bindingshorthand, which can be used instead of the full boiler plate text.This patch is based on work done by Thomas Gleixner and Kate Stewart andPhilippe Ombredanne.How this work was done:Patches were generated and checked against linux-4.14-rc6 for a subset ofthe use cases: - file had no licensing information it it. - file was a */uapi/* one with no licensing information in it, - file was a */uapi/* one with existing licensing information,Further patches will be generated in subsequent months to fix up caseswhere non-standard license headers were used, and references to licensehad to be inferred by heuristics based on keywords.The analysis to determine which SPDX License Identifier to be applied toa file was done in a spreadsheet of side by side results from of theoutput of two independent scanners (ScanCode & Windriver) producing SPDXtag:value files created by Philippe Ombredanne. Philippe prepared thebase worksheet, and did an initial spot review of a few 1000 files.The 4.13 kernel was the starting point of the analysis with 60,537 filesassessed. Kate Stewart did a file by file comparison of the scannerresults in the spreadsheet to determine which SPDX license identifier(s)to be applied to the file. She confirmed any determination that was notimmediately clear with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.Criteria used to select files for SPDX license identifier tagging was: - Files considered eligible had to be source code files. - Make and config files were included as candidates if they contained >5 lines of source - File already had some variant of a license header in it (even if <5 lines).All documentation files were explicitly excluded.The following heuristics were used to determine which SPDX licenseidentifiers to apply. - when both scanners couldn't find any license traces, file was considered to have no license information in it, and the top level COPYING file license applied. For non */uapi/* files that summary was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 11139 and resulted in the first patch in this series. If that file was a */uapi/* path one, it was "GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note" otherwise it was "GPL-2.0". Results of that was: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------- GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 930 and resulted in the second patch in this series. - if a file had some form of licensing information in it, and was one of the */uapi/* ones, it was denoted with the Linux-syscall-note if any GPL family license was found in the file or had no licensing in it (per prior point). Results summary: SPDX license identifier # files ---------------------------------------------------|------ GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note 270 GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 169 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-2-Clause) 21 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 17 LGPL-2.1+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 15 GPL-1.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 14 ((GPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR BSD-3-Clause) 5 LGPL-2.0+ WITH Linux-syscall-note 4 LGPL-2.1 WITH Linux-syscall-note 3 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) OR MIT) 3 ((GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note) AND MIT) 1 and that resulted in the third patch in this series. - when the two scanners agreed on the detected license(s), that became the concluded license(s). - when there was disagreement between the two scanners (one detected a license but the other didn't, or they both detected different licenses) a manual inspection of the file occurred. - In most cases a manual inspection of the information in the file resulted in a clear resolution of the license that should apply (and which scanner probably needed to revisit its heuristics). - When it was not immediately clear, the license identifier was confirmed with lawyers working with the Linux Foundation. - If there was any question as to the appropriate license identifier, the file was flagged for further research and to be revisited later in time.In total, over 70 hours of logged manual review was done on thespreadsheet to determine the SPDX license identifiers to apply to thesource files by Kate, Philippe, Thomas and, in some cases, confirmationby lawyers working with the Linux Foundation.Kate also obtained a third independent scan of the 4.13 code base fromFOSSology, and compared selected files where the other two scannersdisagreed against that SPDX file, to see if there was new insights. TheWindriver scanner is based on an older version of FOSSology in part, sothey are related.Thomas did random spot checks in about 500 files from the spreadsheetsfor the uapi headers and agreed with SPDX license identifier in thefiles he inspected. For the non-uapi files Thomas did random spot checksin about 15000 files.In initial set of patches against 4.14-rc6, 3 files were found to havecopy/paste license identifier errors, and have been fixed to reflect thecorrect identifier.Additionally Philippe spent 10 hours this week doing a detailed manualinspection and review of the 12,461 patched files from the initial patchversion early this week with: - a full scancode scan run, collecting the matched texts, detected license ids and scores - reviewing anything where there was a license detected (about 500+ files) to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correct - reviewing anything where there was no detection but the patch license was not GPL-2.0 WITH Linux-syscall-note to ensure that the applied SPDX license was correctThis produced a worksheet with 20 files needing minor correction. Thisworksheet was then exported into 3 different .csv files for thedifferent types of files to be modified.These .csv files were then reviewed by Greg. Thomas wrote a script toparse the csv files and add the proper SPDX tag to the file, in theformat that the file expected. This script was further refined by Gregbased on the output to detect more types of files automatically and todistinguish between header and source .c files (which need differentcomment types.) Finally Greg ran the script using the .csv files togenerate the patches.Reviewed-by: Kate Stewart <kstewart@linuxfoundation.org>Reviewed-by: Philippe Ombredanne <pombredanne@nexb.com>Reviewed-by: Thomas Gleixner <tglx@linutronix.de>Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

16508469 - ARM/PCI: Remove pci_fixup_irqs() call for bios32 host controllers

ARM/PCI: Remove pci_fixup_irqs() call for bios32 host controllersLegacy PCI host controllers (ie host controllers that set-up the PCI busthrough the ARM pci_common_init() API) are currently relying onpci_fixup_irqs() to assign legacy PCI irqs to devices. This is not idealin that pci_fixup_irqs() assigns IRQs for all PCI devices present in a givensystem some of which may well be enabled by the time pci_fixup_irqs() iscalled (ie a system with multiple host controllers). With the introductionof struct pci_host_bridge.(*map_irq) pointer it is possible to assign IRQsfor all devices originating from a PCI host bridge at probe time; this isimplemented through pci_assign_irq() that relies on the structpci_host_bridge.map_irq pointer to map IRQ for a given device.The benefits this brings are twofold: - the IRQ for a device is assigned once at probe time - the IRQ assignment works also for hotplugged devicesRemove pci_fixup_irqs() call from bios32 code and rely on pci_assign_irq()to carry out the IRQ mapping at device probe time.The map_irq() and swizzle_irq() struct pci_host_bridge callbacks are set-upin the struct pci_host_bridge created in the bios32 pcibios_init_hw()function and mach-* code paths (for PCI mach implementations that require aspecific struct hw_pci.(*scan) function callback).Signed-off-by: Lorenzo Pieralisi <lorenzo.pieralisi@arm.com>[bhelgaas: folded in fixes from Lorenzo:http://lkml.kernel.org/r/20170701140629.GC8977@red-moon]Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>Cc: Jason Cooper <jason@lakedaemon.net>Cc: Russell King <linux@armlinux.org.uk>Cc: Andrew Lunn <andrew@lunn.ch>

If the caller's ->setup() function had added an I/Oresource, we used that; otherwise, we added a default 64K I/O port spacefor it.There are PCI host bridges that do not support I/O port space, and weshould not add fictitious spaces for them.If a caller sets struct hw_pci.io_optional, assume it is responsible foradding any I/O port resource it desires, and do not add any default I/Oport space.Tested-by: Geert Uytterhoeven <geert+renesas@glider.be>Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>

ARM: 8554/1: kernel: pci: remove pci=firmware command line parameter handlingAccording to kernel documentation, the pci=firmware command lineparameter is only meant to be used on IXP2000 ARM platforms to preventthe kernel from assigning PCI resources configured by the bootloader.Since the IXP2000 ARM platforms support has been removed from thekernel in commit:commit c65f2abf54a6 ("ARM: remove ixp23xx and ixp2000 platforms")its platforms specific kernel parameters should be removedtoo from the kernel documentation along with the kernel codecurrently handling them in that they have just become obsolete.This patch removes the pci=firmware command line parameter handlingfrom ARM code and the related kernel parameters documentationsection.Signed-off-by: Lorenzo Pieralisi <lorenzo.pieralisi@arm.com>Acked-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>Acked-by: Lennert Buytenhek <kernel@wantstofly.org>Cc: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>Cc: Lennert Buytenhek <kernel@wantstofly.org>Cc: Jonathan Corbet <corbet@lwn.net>Cc: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>Cc: Rob Herring <robh@kernel.org>Signed-off-by: Russell King <rmk+kernel@arm.linux.org.uk>

ARM/PCI: Move align_resource function pointer to pci_host_bridge structureCommit b3a72384fe29 ("ARM/PCI: Replace pci_sys_data->align_resource withglobal function pointer") introduced an ARM-specific align_resource()function pointer. This is not portable to other arches and doesn't workfor platforms with two different PCIe host bridge controllers.Move the function pointer to the pci_host_bridge structure so each hostbridge driver can specify its own align_resource() function.Signed-off-by: Gabriele Paoloni <gabriele.paoloni@huawei.com>Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>Reviewed-by: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>

ARM/PCI: Replace pci_sys_data->align_resource with global function pointerdw_pcie_host_init() creates the PCI host bridge with pci_common_init_dev(),an ARM-specific function that supplies the ARM-specific pci_sys_datastructure as the PCI "sysdata". To use dw_pcie_host_init() on otherarchitectures, we will copy the internals of pci_common_init_dev() intopcie-designware.c instead of calling it, and dw_pcie_host_init() willsupply the DesignWare pcie_port structure as "sysdata".Most ARM "sysdata" users are specific to non-DesignWare host bridges;they'll be unaffected because those bridges will continue to have the ARMpci_sys_data. Most of the rest are ARM-generic functions called bypci_common_init_dev(); these will be unaffected because dw_pcie_host_init()will no longer call pci_common_init().But the ARM pcibios_align_resource() can be called by the PCI core for anybridge, so it can't depend on sysdata since it may be either pci_sys_dataor pcie_port.Remove the pcibios_align_resource() dependency on sysdata by replacing thepci_sys_data->align_resource pointer with a global function pointer.This is less general (we can no longer have per-host bridgealign_resource() methods), but the pci_sys_data->align_resource pointer wasused only by Marvell (see mvebu_pcie_enable()), so this would only be aproblem if we had a system with a combination of Marvell and other hostbridges[bhelgaas: changelog]Signed-off-by: Gabriele Paoloni <gabriele.paoloni@huawei.com>Signed-off-by: Zhou Wang <wangzhou1@hisilicon.com>Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>Acked-by: Pratyush Anand <pratyush.anand@gmail.com>

ARM/PCI, designware, xilinx: Use pci_scan_root_bus_msi()ARM previously stored the msi_controller pointer in its sysdata, structpci_sys_data, and implemented pcibios_msi_controller() to retrieve it.That made PCI host controller drivers specific to ARM because they had toput the msi_controller pointer in the ARM-specific pci_sys_data.There is now a generic mechanism, pci_scan_root_bus_msi(), for giving themsi_controller pointer to the PCI core. Use this for all ARM systems andfor the DesignWare and Xilinx PCI host controller drivers.This removes an ARM dependency from the DesignWare, DRA7xx, EXYNOS, i.MX6,Keystone, Layerscape, SPEAr13xx, and Xilinx drivers.[bhelgaas: changelog, split into separate patch]Suggested-by: Russell King <linux@arm.linux.org.uk>Signed-off-by: Lorenzo Pieralisi <lorenzo.pieralisi@arm.com>Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>Acked-by: Jingoo Han <jingoohan1@gmail.com>CC: Pratyush Anand <pratyush.anand@gmail.com>CC: Arnd Bergmann <arnd@arndb.de>CC: Simon Horman <horms@verge.net.au>CC: Russell King <linux@arm.linux.org.uk>CC: Thomas Petazzoni <thomas.petazzoni@free-electrons.com>CC: Thierry Reding <thierry.reding@gmail.com>CC: Michal Simek <michal.simek@xilinx.com>CC: Marc Zyngier <marc.zyngier@arm.com>

ARM/PCI: Replace panic with WARN messages on failuresIn the ARM PCI bios32 layer, failures to dynamically allocate pci_sys_datafor a PCI bus, or a PCI bus scan failure have to be considered seriouswarnings but they should not trigger a system panic so that at least thesystem is given a chance to be debugged.This patch replaces the panic statements with WARN() messages to improveerror reporting in the ARM PCI bios32 layer.Signed-off-by: Lorenzo Pieralisi <lorenzo.pieralisi@arm.com>Signed-off-by: Bjorn Helgaas <bhelgaas@google.com>Reviewed-by: Jingoo Han <jingoohan1@gmail.com>Acked-by: Marc Zyngier <marc.zyngier@arm.com>CC: Russell King <linux@arm.linux.org.uk>CC: Marc Zyngier <marc.zyngier@arm.com>
