<title>fd96685a - Revert &quot; When stopping powerd, set the CPU frequency back to its maximum value&quot;</title>
        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/freebsd-14.2/libexec/rc/rc.d/powerd#fd96685a</link>
<description>Revert &quot; When stopping powerd, set the CPU frequency back to its maximum value&quot; This reverts commit 1dcb6ad173e57b489a859ea59ed6eaa733bdb5bc.As of &quot;8cb16fdbea6b Restore original frequency on exit.&quot;, powerdrestores the original frequency itself.Further, if the original frequency is not the same as thefirst frequency found in the frequency list, then the restorationdone by the powerd_poststop will restore the wrong frequency. This can happen on Intel machines where Turbo is not enabled, but the turbo frequency is first in the list of frequencies. In this case, turbo will be enabled when the user did not wantit to be.Sponsored by: NetflixDifferential Revision: https://reviews.freebsd.org/D40197Reviewed by: imp, mav

<title>0696600c - Move the rc framework out of sbin/init into libexec/rc.</title>
        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/freebsd-14.2/libexec/rc/rc.d/powerd#0696600c</link>
<description>Move the rc framework out of sbin/init into libexec/rc.The reasons for this are forward looking to pkgbase: * /sbin/init is a special binary; try not to replace it with every package update because an rc script was touched. (a follow-up commit will make init its own package) * having rc in its own place will allow more easy replacement of the rc framework with alternatives, such as openrc.Discussed with: brd (during BSDCam), kmooreRequested by: cem, bzPR: 231522Approved by: re (gjb)
