        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/freebsd-14.2/lib/libc/gen/fdevname.c#4025b5b5</link>
<description>libc: Purge unneeded cdefs.hThese sys/cdefs.h are not needed. Purge them. They are mostly left-overfrom the $FreeBSD$ removal. A few in libc are still required for macrosthat cdefs.h defines. Keep those.Sponsored by: NetflixDifferential Revision:	https://reviews.freebsd.org/D42385(cherry picked from commit 559a218c9b257775fb249b67945fe4a05b7a6b9f)

<title>d915a14e - libc: further adoption of SPDX licensing ID tags.</title>
        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/freebsd-14.2/lib/libc/gen/fdevname.c#d915a14e</link>
<description>libc: further adoption of SPDX licensing ID tags.Mainly focus on files that use BSD 2-Clause license, however the tool Iwas using mis-identified many licenses so this was mostly a manual - errorprone - task. The Software Package Data Exchange (SPDX) group provides a specificationto make it easier for automated tools to detect and summarize well knownopensource licenses. We are gradually adopting the specification, notingthat the tags are considered only advisory and do not, in any way, superceed or replace the license texts.

<title>26d4f5e9 - Add two new routines: fdevname() and fdevname_r().</title>
        <link>http://172.16.0.5:8080/history/freebsd-14.2/lib/libc/gen/fdevname.c#26d4f5e9</link>
<description>Add two new routines: fdevname() and fdevname_r().A more elegant way of obtaining a name of a character device by its filedescriptor on FreeBSD, is to use the FIODGNAME ioctl. Because a validfile descriptor implies a file descriptor is visible in /dev, it willalways resolve a valid device name.I&apos;m adding a more friendly wrapper for this ioctl, called fdevname(). Itis a lot easier to use than devname() and also has better errorhandling. When a device name cannot be resolved, it will just returnNULL instead of a generated device name that makes no sense.Discussed with:	kib
